For Fontainebleau State Park: Lovely state park near beautiful Mandeville, LA. NICE clean restrooms, beautiful setting, great bicycle trails, historic site, a great choice to see Lake Pontchartrain - NOLA w/o being so close to rougher areas.

For Fontainebleau State Park: We were searching for a place to stay in order to visit the WWII museum in NO and lucked into finding this state park. This is a great park! Our campsite was level, close to a clean, nice bathroom /shower and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this park!

For Fontainebleau State Park: We stayed in the most populated camping area with the dump site. The pluses are it’s very a pretty area and getting to see the lake from this park is amazing. The bathhouse is older but clean. Things do tend to flood a little bit well look where you are. The cons - no one could seems to give us a code to get in if we came in late even though we called several people. So we hauled it to get there. Not good. The bugs were horrendous. I don’t say this lightly. I spent 27 years in the Army doing field training all the way till the end almost and lots of that training in MS, GA, TN, LA , TX etc…. We love state parks but this was a bit much. Maybe it was just a bad site we were on being isolated a bit….but even with the bug spray and covered up it was pretty bad in May.

For Fontainebleau State Park: Stayed in July 2021. Beautiful park, many places to walk around and see the lake. Some sites are not full hook up, so make sure to book what you need. Bathrooms were older, but clean. Easy access to the surrounding lake communities, water sports, and dining options. Would stay again. See my travels on YouTube/Instagram @pagingdoctormegan

For Fontainebleau State Park: This is a beautiful state park. The beautiful oaks with the hanging moss is a true southern charm. However, the state of Louisiana needs to step up their game and start adding sewer to the sites. For a state park to be this beautiful with as many camping sites as it has, the fact that it only has seven sites with sewer is a disgrace. When we stayed there one of the dump sites was out of order and the other dump station had a 45 minute wait in the evening....i can only imagine how long the wait time was earlier in the day.

For Fontainebleau State Park: We loved it. Read the reviews and with rain the forecast requested a dry campsite. I recommend the north campground if you want more space-similar to what we are used to with state parks. Every pull-through on the north campground faced the forest which is nice/secluded but is going to be closer to the bayou water. We did not want any flooding (although I saw no flooding at any site). The south campground is closer to the main park, playground, etc. but also has sites much MUCH closer together. This place is beautiful. Sunsets are amazing at the beach, the Cypress trees are grand and breath taking. We planned on staying here 3 days but decided to stay a whole week because it’s quiet and wonderful. $20 per night with water and electric during the week. I imagine it gets buggy when it’s hot. The cooler temps (60’s/40’s) probably kept the bugs away for us. Highly recommend. Bonus is that Mandeville is a cute town and has a Whole Foods.

For Fontainebleau State Park: We had the same observations as the previous reviewer - very wet and puddles covering about 50% of the campground, including tables and fire circles but sites were paved and mostly dry. Still, very nice park though. We had site 24, closer to the primitive sites, and it was very private, with deer wandering right through. Only 1 bar of 5G AT&T service that really struggled at our site but 2 bars over by the bathrooms, where upload speeds were significantly better.
