For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: This is like no other Sun Outdoors we have been to. It is no way as nice as most. They will move you if you don’t pay extra, there is very little shade so your RV will have a hard time staying cool. Even though we are self-contained, I heard the whole drill about the bathrooms not working when explained to the people in front of us. There really is no pet area. It is just on the outskirts of the park in open desert. Geez. Also, lots of nasty goat head stickers so be careful with your pets. I would never stay again. Glad there are other choices.

For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: Not a bad stop over place to visit NPs in area. If you are using the provided showers, FYI no hot water for showers. Tried multiple showers, nothing.

Gary Vaughn
For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: Staff terse to say the least. Pool broken the first day, water line break the next day. Suspect maintenance is minimal and more time spent reacting than preventing problems. If stay here would do so with a full water tank and not expect much in the way of customer service.

For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: Extremely unfriendly, we were looking for a home base for 4 weeks to explore arches. But we’re met with an angry man concerned about water where they have a water park, which confused us. Please go into town, mavericks has free water and dumps.

Impromptu Adventures
For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: This is a pretty decent site to stay at. It is super clean and has security patrolling frequently which is nice. If you are into adventure (and you’re looking at staying in Moab, so I assume you are) the location can’t be beat. There are dirt roads from the parking lot that will lead you right into Arches National Park. There are trails here for mountain bikes and all kinds of ATV’s and Jeeps that you literally roll out to from your tent, RV or cabin. I don’t think there’s a better place in Moab to stay if that’s what you plan to do all week. If you want food and shopping, town will be better.
The site is crushed rock/gravel and level. Something that always makes me feel good are sewage hookups that are clean and don’t smell when they’re open and they somehow hit that target pretty well. The site lacks shade/cover which is pretty understandable given the typical weather in the area. There is a tree at each RV site but there’s only so much a tree can do and many are small and look to have been planted recently. If you’re traveling with pets you’ll need to make sure you have adequate gear to keep your rig cool if you’re planning on leaving them in there. Even with a windshield sun protector, we couldn’t keep our rig cooler than the outside temps with our admittedly small and underpowered AC unit.
There were a few things though that missed the mark and here they are. They do have propane to fill your tank, but not everyday so call ahead if you’re depending on it. They also ran out of 1 gallon water jugs in the store as well as quarters for laundry. This made me feel like they might be a little disorganized but it wouldn’t stop me from staying here again as cleanliness and safety are my top priorities and they hit the mark on those.
All in all we had a fantastic stay and Archview hit all the critical needs out of the park with just a few minor hiccups. I do hope they can train an additional person to fill propane so that they have full coverage on that.

Jeff N
For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: I booked our site six months in advance and found out when we called a few days before our arrival that we did not have a site to go to. We stated we had a confirmation number, but the desk person stated that they simply don’t have a site for our sized rig. We provided all the rig size information at the time of booking, but that did not matter. We had to find another site in Moab with no help from Arches. Although we can’t comment about the site itself, we doubt we will be back given what occurred.

For Sun Outdoors Canyonlands Gateway: Great place to stay and close to the national park and Moab. Had a premium spot with a travel trailer so could stay hooked up as only staying one night. Nice playground and a great splash pad for our kids. Small by nice pool. Bathroom and showers are good just little old but clean. Has a full gas station and convenience store store. Would stay again if I’m area.
