For Van Horn RV Park: Friendly check in. Level site. But it looks like this place has not had TLC in a long time.

For Van Horn RV Park: I read some recent reviews and can’t figure out when things turned to crap and they stopped taking care of this park. We stayed here one night traveling through in May 2023, and then another night mid June on our way home. We were more in need of the amenities such as the swimming pool which they said was open. When we got there and checked in, we turned on our AC to cool the camper down and went to the pool. Well it was locked. The lady came and unlocked it for us and we went in and found the pool was disgusting filled with debris. Slimy new pump was working, so no circulation in the pool. I tried to skim it with their 30 year old skimmer that was tiny and had holes all in it so that didn’t do a real good job. They have definitely let that pool go. It’s now a mosquito cesspool. We used the showers and while the bathrooms were “ok” the showers looked clean but lots of bugs. Low water pressure. I’m the morning the bathrooms were completely filled with bugs, all in the sinks, and everywhere the entire park was infested with aggressive mosquitoes we think due to the surrounding pond in the pool. we’ve stayed at some places that cost $25-$30 and they were far better than this that charges $40 cash or $45 otherwise. They should be paying us to stay there. If you can drive through and push through another hour or to do it. It’s unfortunate they would let this park go.

For Van Horn RV Park: Plenty of hot water for the morning shower. Large number of sites & we were sprinkled around so each of us had a large space to ourselves. I arrived after dark & my reservation information was waiting for me on the door ~ $40 for the night & they took my check in the morning. Nothing fancy but a perfect spot to crash for the night having driven 400 miles in a 24’ Class C motorhome.

For Van Horn RV Park: As stated in other reviews this is a former KOA park with many spaces and good Mountain View’s. It is a desert park so nothing fancy. It’s a great place to layover a day or two. The bathrooms were pristine. Close to I-10, but surprisingly very little road noise.

For Van Horn RV Park: As you drive in, you notice the office looks like an old KOA building so safe assumption that’s what this park used to be. Friendly, efficient check in. They have a small cafe that serves breakfast and dinner on limited hours. It is a pretty large park, and it was pretty empty when we stayed late February. The sites and roads are red dirt and gravel. It was raining when we arrived, so it annoyingly stuck to the tires and our shoes. Our site was plenty long enough for our MH and toad, and it was mostly level. A bit tight maneuvering to get out but we were able to pull through two sites in front of us which was much easier. I-10 is far enough away that you hear the occasional tractor trailer or a dull roar. We heard one train whistle in the early evening. There is a view of the mountains on one side which we witnessed briefly before the wind and dust kicked up a fury. Verizon was 5g 3 bars and 4g 3 bars. Satellite would not be a problem. WII FI doesn’t work - surprise. Nothing special but it’s fine for a night.

For Van Horn RV Park: Certainly nothing fancy, but if you are looking for an overnight in West Texas this park fills the bill. Easy access off interstate, large sites big enough for the largest rigs, big wide streets in the park so plenty of room to get in and out, clean bathrooms and friendly staff. We stay here every time we head out or return from out West
