For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: Great place to stay overall but fire ants are a problem. Bring something to spread around and that will do it. I advised the staff and they said they would take care of it but never did.

For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: Navy knows how to do it! This is 3rd trip in RV and all is well. Maybe winter would be better. Very warm and humid but what do you expect in the 1st of Sept! Feet beware of cockleburs on your flip flop then in your RV/Camper. Really nice shower and beach area. But being from the Air Force we would have Air Conditioned the whole place! . Good job Navy well done.

For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: Stayed here for a bit in May/June. Golf always available but the family pool is rarely open & closes in August (though it's pool season until November). Playground was being torn down also. Not family friendly unless even the toddlers play golf! No shade, always windy, & you either bathe in DEET or run for your life from the mosquitos! New concrete pads & laundry are very nice. Could do a better job spraying for mosquitos & having the pool open daily (cheaper than golf & better for family morale). Would stay again but only very short term.

For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: Stayed NAS Corpus Christi 1 week March 2015. Put us in the older area by the marina. Grass pads but each spot has a concrete patio area with picnic table. Was a nice stay and wifi worked well except a couple times in the evening when real slow due to too many users. Great views of the bay but weather did not cooperate with rain most the time and strong winds. No trees to slow down the wind. Even though we have washer/dryer in our MH, the laundry house had free washer/dryer. The newer RV park had large concrete pads and closer to the water which means in stronger winds you will get salt water spray. They take reservations. Other than the weather, we enjoyed our stay and would return if we are back in this area again.

For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: Stayed 4 months. Great place! Clean and everything was operational and most facilities are new. If planning on staying awhile make sure your get corrosionX and spray all metal parts because it will get covered by salt water spray from the wind.

For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: Great place! VERY nice, clean, well kept.
We stayed in the newer part of the campground right on the Bay (site #60), right near the bathroom and Laundry.
Nice level concrete pad, new picnic table, etc...
The showers are hot and the bathroom is very modern. A great deal for $18.00/ night!

For Shields Park NAS Recreation Site: We arrived before 8 am and the person at the Marina let us check in anyway. The sites are all large and the grounds are kept clean. We used the laundry 2 times so far and everything worked good. The location is great, close to NEX and commisary. We went to pardra island and into town. Being about in the middle of both it was easy to get around. We will be back.
