For Raccoon Mountain Campground: Overall this is a very nice campground and well located to many popular attractions. The sites are small but seem to vary quite a bit. We were on the end near the road and consequently didn’t feel quit so hemmed in. One irritation is we initially paid for 2 days and decided to stay another day which I had indicated when we first booked. When I went to pay for the additional day the price had gone up about 20%. I was told their prices vary according to occupancy. Beware of that.

For Raccoon Mountain Campground: Overall nice park, Mountain View's and close to area attractions (ruby falls and rock city) Clean bathrooms and laundry facility. Staff was friendly. We originally booked two nights and decided to stay 3. They are a good sam Park. Note: when booking online no way to apply discount. She said they are trying to fix it. When we added an additional night she applied the discount for our entire stay. For those with ATVs utvs etc, there are riding trails just down the road called Aetna mountain adventures. We would stay again.

For Raccoon Mountain Campground: Stayed in one of the cabins, woke up with bites on body. We thought it was mosquitos but realized after having some appear even after being home that they were likely bed bug bites (bedbug bites sometimes appear up to a week after the bite). Had a trained dog inspection team come and identify the scent of bedbugs in our luggage. Beware!

For Raccoon Mountain Campground: Back for our third time in a tent. Spots are a little close but not worse than other campgrounds. Nice pool and bathrooms. Grounds are kept up and the staff is friendly and receptive to requests. Good service keeps me going back. They even gave me the spot I requested.

For Raccoon Mountain Campground: Worst campground ever! Staff is rude! They try and cram people on top of each other. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

For Raccoon Mountain Campground: Narrow short lot. Even though it was off-season they put a trailer on either side of me. I had a camp fire less than 8 feet from my trailer. Glad the wind was favorable and no damage to my unit. Was asked what breed dog we had. Boxer. Came by and said we could not have that breed in the park. Started to load up and leave. Then came back and said oh it was OK. Encouraged us to book an extra day even though we did not think we were going to stay. Asked if we would get our money back and was told we would. But refused to refund my money when I left. Says no refund on bottom of receipt. Enjoy the city and the area. Sure hope there someplace else to stay I would never go back to this one.

For Raccoon Mountain Campground: We chose this campground due to its proximity to Lookout Mountain and all of the other associated attractions. I didn't expect much based on other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. While the sites are a bit close, the spacing is very similar to that of KOA's and other private campgrounds. The sites, roads, and facilities are well kept, and the office staff was very friendly. We particularly liked the views of the surrounding hills and forested ridges. We will definitely stay here again the next time we spend time in the Chattanooga area. We camped here for two days in a fifth wheel.
