For Hunting Island State Park: Great beach and low price. Impossible to find anymore. Campground is close to beach. Great sand and no houses or hotels in sight. Sites at the North end are big and private. Some others are small and close together, do some research if you want the better ones. Some sites have full hookups. Bug were not bad in early May.

For Hunting Island State Park: No privacy, lots of family and people on the same site. Our neighbour has a travel trailer, two tents and 3 shelters on the same site with 3 cars, 6 children and 6 adults and 4 dogs for a week. Park rangers did nothing. The rules are clear, maximum of 6 people and 2 vehicules…..missed the time when park rangers were enforcing the rules. Its a state park with a majority of red necks people. Dogs are barking all day and all nights long and kids playing outside until midnight! First and last time here. The worst state park that i ever been in……..if you want a peaceful and quiet place, go else where……

For Hunting Island State Park: 5 stars for campground being on beach with most sites with shade. Took off one star due to only place to put garbage just outside campground including no dog poop stations. Would definitely recommend. A great beach for walks and natural areas to explore.

For Hunting Island State Park: We have a 16 foot Winnebago mini. The sights were beautiful, but too close together. More trees and shrubbery between them would be helpful. The water and the electricity was great, but the Wi-Fi did not reach to our site. The access to the beach is phenomenal. And the sand is beautiful and easy to bike on. We will definitely be back!

For Hunting Island State Park: Feb. 2021. 40’ 5th wheel. Campground is right on the very nice beach. Long compacted beach for walk, run, biking. Campground is mostly shaded with some open non-shaded sites. Most shaded sites have good privacy. Wildlife in the campground. Store on site. Showers and restrooms are OK. The campground roads are a little rough and need some love. Plenty to see and visit in the area. Nice seafood eateries close by. Be careful to not miss the small campground sign just as you get to the State Park and ending up further along at the State Park entrance, this is going to hurt if you are in a big rig !

For Hunting Island State Park: This was our first time out after having to cancel trips during the CoronaCation, so we were really ready. Got our favorite campsite on the back row, away from the kids and the beach. Quiet with all the nature critters. Site is a good size, very near the bathhouse. Bathhouse is well maintained and about average for cleaning. Since the hurricane almost destroyed the park, none of the sites are really on the beach, so bring your wagon. Bring a fan and your bug stuff. If the breeze ever stops, the bugs can only be described as biblical. Raccoons, deer, squirrels, and armadillos maraude through the campground constantly looking for food. The raccoons -can- open your high dollar grizzly proof cooler if they want to. Don't leave anything that smells edible unattended.

For Hunting Island State Park: Our third trip to Hunting Island. We really like this campground, but have learned that both mosquitos and no see ums are a problem in the evening. This year we came prepared with a screen shelter which was effective but a two day tropical storm and heavy rains flooded the campground and created an ankle deep pond all around our campsite. So, come prepared for bugs and pray for good weather. Lots of things to do in the Beaufort and Port Royal area to compensate for any campground issues. I will return to Hunting Island.
