For The Campground At James Island County Park: The park is very large! We were pulled over around 7:30 trying to find our reservation email at night and ranger approached and escorted us in. Very helpful at check in. Tons of activities in this County Park! We barely scratch the surface. Lots of paved trails. Fishing kayaking paddle boarding rock wall climbing and splash pad. Our site #48 was partially secluded. The bath houses were clean, spacious, well maintained with hot showers and never crowded. We stayed here and toured Charleston which is about 6 miles away. We're planning to visit often!

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Great place to stay. Reservation and check in was very easy and exactly what we wanted. Friendly staff. Good sized site, not huge, but plenty of room between campers. Short drive to both Charleston and the beach. Beach parking pass included with reservation. Nice biking and running paths. Kids loved the playground. Didn’t shower in the bathhouse, but they were clean and nice. WiFi actually worked most of the time at this campground. Don’t find that often. Plan on going back.

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Campground has lots of things to do like biking, hike/walking, outdoor climbing wall, water park and the best off-leash dog park we've seen. Restrooms and showers could be a lot cleaner especially with the price and staffing they have.

For The Campground At James Island County Park: We have camped at this park several times and have always loved it. Our sites have always been spacious and level. There is so much to do at the park: paved trails for walking & biking, great dog park with a beach for dogs to swim, adventure & climbing wall, a small river to kayak/paddle board (they have rentals), park activities for kids, splash park & water park. There are beaches and tourist attractions close by. We just camped with our family from all over the eastern part of the country (12 campers, 50 people from ages 7 months old to 63 years old) We had a GREAT time! We made our reservations a year in advance. We camped in our 37 ft motor home towing a jeep.

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Think twice before you book here. I made reservations (and confirmed with credit card deposit) in November for a mid Feb stay. I called today just to confirm my stay and was told that "someone" had cancelled my reservation. Unbelievable!! I had a pull through site booked and now none are available. I was told a "new employee" cancelled my reservation. This is the worst kind of mismanagement you can think of.

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Why does everybody have to move when some of the sites they move to were open the previous night? All the sites will fit a 40 ft mh. So just assign sites when people get there. A lot easier and will make for a lot fewer disgruntled campers...

For The Campground At James Island County Park: Most miss managed campground I have ever been in. Had to move 3 times in 4 days because they were too lazy to check site availability. Were told they were totally full and saw about 10 empty sites a night.
I have to assume they were saving sites for their buddies so they wouldnt have to move or didnt give a hoot..
With todays technology this type of situation is inexcusable. Maybe the county has no supervisors.....
