For Brantley Lake State Park: Nice place to camp. Be careful with purchasing the annual pass. I had to go to the website for New Mexico’s parks to call and get my permit number. Very quiet, peaceful park. Everything is clean. Not too thrilled with the primitive camping. The dirt roads are a little ruff if you want to camp near the beach. Will camp here again. It’s very close to Carlsbad.

For Brantley Lake State Park: Good level paved sites, nice bath house, broad vistas. Not a 5 because of very low lake level and off the beaten path for us one nighters. Nice picnic tables and shelters at each site.

For Brantley Lake State Park: We have stayed here for 14 days. It is a nice secluded park, quiet, and dark but still close enough to Carlsbad and local attractions. We went to Carlsbad Caverns and Bat Flight Program, Sitting Bull Falls and The Flume during our second visit to this area. The park is in need of some trimming and weed control. Our site is filled with Texas Star Thistle. We had to do yardwork before setting up our pet fence. I mean it is everywhere here. There are dead trees at sites which should be taken down before they fall on someone. The sites are not level. The dump station is closed. They said they are taking bids from local companies and should be up in two weeks but it has been two weeks. We were able to use our blue boy and dump at a vacant host site. The park would be so much nicer if a little care was taken to clean the sites of vegetation. I'm not sure if we would stay here again.

For Brantley Lake State Park: Wonderful friendly staff. All 30 amp with water hookups sites. 2 site did have sewer (one for camp host). A little tight to back in but doable. Play ground for kids. Restrooms and showers were VERY clean. Had some windy days but overall great place to stay.

For Brantley Lake State Park: Isolated but busy RV park, clean, tight spaces seem shorter than they are shown on the NM State Park website. We booked a 40' spot; our 32' Class A fit with just enough room to tuck our toad sideways in front of it with our back bumper in the bushes. Had to get everything we needed out of basement storage before opening slides as they were right against trees on the utility side. We stayed while visiting Carlsbad Caverns, about an hour drive. We'd stay again if in the area. Suggest reserving well in advance, even in October it was pretty well booked.

For Brantley Lake State Park: Wide open exposed campground high above a very very large reservoir. Too windy when we were here to enjoy much. Sites clean, restrooms clean, full hookups. Seems isolated.

For Brantley Lake State Park: We really liked this park. Great sites. Not too close. Nice picnic areas at site with roof and one wall. Nice views. Very clean. Restrooms are being remodeled so they have portables that are really pretty nice. The temporary ones were nicer than lots of permanent ones.
