Howard

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Very nice RV Park was clean and found the staff helpful. Was easy to find just inside the main gate. Gate guards were very helpful by moving the ballers so we could get the 5th wheel through after we entered. Would definitely stay at this park again.

Jim

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Stayed for two weeks in the new section which is gravel. The camp host was very friendly and helpful but the park manager gave the impression we were bothering her.
There are two bathrooms in new section which are unisex. One bathroom was closed on Friday to repaint and the next day the other had the lock destroyed, so neither bath was usable. The ones in the old section have one stall for the men and it was out of toilet paper. The women's toilet needed a thorough cleaning.
The laundry room had half the machines out of order the entire time we were there.
The park itself was clean and close to everything we wanted to do, so would stay again. Just would be prepared for the management.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Incredible value!! Very nice lady returned our call on a Sunday. We entered in the main gate with a 43' 5th wheel, a bit tight but doable. Security forces gave super directions, we found a spot, it is gravel/rock, spacious pull though, very close to level in the 'parking lot'area. Check in via drop box, showers and bathroom decent and neighbors friendly...as usual at famcamps. Thx!!!

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Use the Eubanks Gate; the other gate has tight Security S-curves coming and going, getting your rig through is impossible. I don't know the gate hours and the Camphost didn't either. Camp is very close to gate and easy to find.

We were passing through and only spent one night. Try to get in the old section of the park; the sites are good sized and have shade trees and grass. The new section has very large spaces, but it looks like a gravel parking lot.
The boathouse showers were terribly dirty and half the laundry machines were out of order. The park was otherwise clean and other campers were very friendly.

Sam

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Called the famcamp at least 10 times, no answer, so left a message. No one ever returned calls. So we just showed up and took our chances. Hard to find office, no sign on building. Janet, working in office was watching soap opera on tv with a friend when we arrived. Made us feel like we were intruding and bothering her. She was unfriendly, rude and totally inattentive. Her friend was far more helpful. Janet gave us a choice of 3 sites, when there were many more available. We were expected to make a decision site unseen, and she seemed annoyed when we wanted to look first.

We paid for 4 nights and decided to stay one more. Went to office at 4:30 to renew and Janet was padlocking door (office hours are until 5). She said she'd open in morning between 7-7:30.

Try to get a site in the old section where there are trees and some grass. New area is a rock pile out in the dessert sun. We didn't use bathroom, shower or laundry.

Quiet park, good experience overall, would come again.

Just don't expect much of the personnel in the famcamp.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Stayed one night. Arrived very late so just pulled into empty spot. Signed in the morning and woman was very helpful, gave us map of base and loads of information for future travel. Showers were clean. Was able to fill up our bottles there. Definitely would use this place again. Can't beat the price!
