For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Arrived on Oct 1st. Was number 9 on the waiting list and was assigned a dry camping spot of which there are many. Got a hookup spot the next day thanks to Dee in the office who arranged to have some tree branches removed in one spot so my RV would fit in it. The one shower in the men's bathroom next to the office could use some cleaning. Glad I was wearing shower shoes! Prices increased on October 1st to $10 a night for dry camping and $25 per night for a hookup site. The FamCamp site was mostly quiet except for what sounded like a high pressure air release from a building about a quarter mile from the FamCamp that occurred periodically during the day and night. It appears they are adding more dry camping spaces as well. There is some shade in most hookup sites, but no shade in the dry camping spots.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Do not use the restrooms onsite!! The health department or someone should step in and make sure they are safe to use. Camp Host was very rude.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: This is to mostly let other rvers know of a problem to look out for when entering the base through Eubanks entrance - as directed on the website. We pulled into the far right gate that would make sense considering the Rv park entrance is on the right after you go through the gate. They have put a big round concrete barrier on the left & a big steel pole on the right which makes it VERY difficult to clear in a 40’ Rv.
The guard told us to use caution because it was so tight! My question is why they can’t move the steel pole over just a few inches so we can get through without damaging our Rv? OR at least post signs dircting the big rigs to use a different lane? I understand this is s problem other rigs have had. Please correct it!!!

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Nice park, found out after finding a site that you’re suppose to check into the office and get assigned to a site. No problem park wasn’t very busy this time of the year. One problem to watch out for is the sewer manholes. I drove over one and as my tow vehicle went over it, it some how caught the cover and popped up we came to a stop like we hit a wall. Tried to back up and the cover then catch the tow dolly and we weren’t going any where. Maintenance man came out and we unloaded the car and got everything fixed. A little damage to the bottom of our car but lucky could have been worse.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: I called Kirtland AFB Famcamp to ask about getting a spot. Janet was rude. Because there are no reservations I called to ask if the campground was normally at max capacity or if there was one or two slots open during balloon fest. "everyone wants a slot with hook ups". And "your chance is as good as everyone else" With an I'm bored your dumb don't bother me attitude. So that's a 500 mile trip we will not be taking a chance on. *SFC Templeton*

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Security Forces at the gate were wonderful. Manager said they would be open until 12 on Sunday of Memorial Day. Arrived at 11 and office was closed. South restrooms are a health hazard with all the mold. FSS Commander should visit this place
