For KOA Holiday Asheville East: Typical KOA. Nice staff. Small spots close together. Campground is near train tracks and highways so expect noise. No paved spots and gravel is dirty so expect a dirty rig. No thread in sewer hookups. I was there long term so I glued in my own, next person should find this spot helpful :)

For KOA Holiday Asheville East: Very nice area but the proximity of other campers was too close. When we arrived, I had to ask multiple nearby campers to move their trucks so that I would have enough room to back in. Spaces were very muddy as well and the bathrooms were not very clean. Toilets were continually clogged and did not have TP. Pay the extra $ and stay in spaces 18-20 which have more real estate.

For KOA Holiday Asheville East: Decent campground but we still had issues. Site was muddy and noisy with road and train noise throughout the night and day. Biggest issue was curb at entrance of campground off route 70. While not the campgrounds fault, the entrance was impossible to navigate without completely rocking our motorhome. Even in our car, the approach was uncomfortable. Add this to a blind curve on a four lane highway upon exiting and we had a disaster upon leavimg the park with our motorhome. Cabinet doors and our refrigerator threw open with six plates, a dozen eggs and wine spilling all over the floor. We are still cleaning up glass from this departure. Not sure what KOA can do to rectify this but be warned i f you decide to stay here.

For KOA Holiday Asheville East: This was our first trip with our new to us class A. We parked in section B, which are full hook up pull thru sites. There is a nice yard area at each site with a picnic table and fire ring, we even had a tree for shade. This campground is super pet friendly, we had a ton of places to walk our 2 dogs. There are 2 lakes and a small river. No swimming in the lakes, but you can swim and tube in the river. The views are amazing, you’re nestled in a valley with mountains all around. There is a train that comes close but not very often. The staff is very nice and keep the campground very clean. There is a sign on the bathroom/bathhouse with a time that they are closed for cleaning, but they don’t stick to that schedule. That’s really the only “negative†thing I can say about this KOA, but the bathrooms are clean and the water is hot with good pressure, so we can’t complain! There’s even a pizza place down the road that delivers. I could not have imagined a better place for our first trip. We will definitely be back!

For KOA Holiday Asheville East: Typical KOA, very busy and close sites but this is expected. Most sites gravel and level and mostly shaded. Staff very helpful and friendly. We stay here a lot when visiting the area. Close to Asheville, restaurants and grocery. Try to get a site on the river or lake.

For KOA Holiday Asheville East: Nice place. Very friendly helpful staff. Try to get place in the back as the train is close to front & blows horn all night. Bathrooms old but clean. We would stay again. 32 ft motor home & car trailer.

For KOA Holiday Asheville East: We stopped at this KOA after touring The Biltmore, which is just a few miles west of this campground. I generally don't like KOA's because they are usually expensive and, it's silly I know , but I don't like the misspelling of KAMPGround!! This KOA has some age - its large and rambles around a few lakes and woods, but we had a delightful site away from the road, right on the lakefront. There was a nice picnic table and fire ring, electric, water and cable, all for a decent price. The bathrooms and showers were older, but clean. We woke up to a beautiful mist on the lake. One aspect that keeps it from earning anything more than a four star is that TRAINS regularly pass very close by this campground. Neat the first time, but not necessarily conducive to a good night's sleep, although we didn't hear any trains past 10 pm or earlier than 7 am.
We encountered friendly, helpful staff. Nice grocery store within a few miles and pizza delivered right to the trailer. We camp in a 17 ft Casita.
