For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: Physically this is a nice campground. good location close to boston and public transportation.
We stayed there last fall. The host and hostess were very unfriendly, especially the hostess, who also works in the office. VERY cliquey.
They talk about other campers behind their backs. very bossy. came right into and thru our site with her dog almost every day. she invades your privacy almost daily with her clipboard in tow.
complained because I hung a wet towel off my awning to dry in the sun.
The campground is nice but this hostess was just too obnoxious for me to consider going back.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: Nice place and will go there again. Had spotty wifi but they had it. On the side for an airfield but my husband and I barely noticed. Convenient to Boston and historic sites. Definitely listen to the camp guide and take the subway to Boston. But dont try and use it on a Monday you will not find parking in the lot.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: It is a community of homesteaders. There are 3-4 spaces available for those passing thru. There is construction going on that will add several full hook ups but target date for completion is fall of 2015.
The park has so much potential if it were managed. Perhaps that will happen but for now, any rules there are seem to not be followed.
The spaces are an adequate size for RVs with a nice concrete patio.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: Loved this campground. Absolutely great especially with all the aircraft--just made it ultra cool! Friendly, helpful staff. Gorgeous area; easy to anywhere.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: The best miltary campground I visited. KOA quality with excellent facilities. Nice boardwalks make it easy to make a short walk to an almost private beach next to Oceana NAS. No wifi, but a facility is nearby with access.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: Another rare FamCamp that has excellent wifi service within your camper. $22 per night with a minimum two night fee. Must pay the two nights if you reserve your site. Full hookups conveniently laid out. Large concrete pads to park your camper on. Nice bath house with showers. Personnel were very friendly and helpful. Bethany Beach is an excellent beach hound area with a boardwalk and lots of stores to browse. Beach access is a short drive from the Famcamp. However the Bethany Beach community charges for parking in the beach area, which can run your costs up considerably.

West Point FamCamp
For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: I had a small problem finding my assigned space. The older campground manager was brusque and rude and treated me like I was an idiot. There were two young persons however, that were very considerate and polite. No sewer hookups available. No concrete pad and we were constantly tracking mud and dirt into the camper. The electrical and water hookups were at least 20 feet apart. Many campsites are on unlevel ground and will require blocks to get stabilized. $25 per night is a good deal to see the West Point historical area, but their MWR campground is far below standards for other military installations.
