For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: Stayed four nights in June 2021. Full hookups available in sunny and shaded sites for our 36’ fifth wheel. Chose a very shady spot . Mosquitoes! Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s adjacent to the Air Force base runway, so planes are noisy, but not bad. You do not go through the base gates to enter the campground, which is a plus for yourselves and visitors. The Minute Man National Historical Park is nearby and worth seeing, especially the North Bridge section! Convenient to Waltham.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: Inexpensive, large spots, (loud when airplanes fly over).
The spots are mostly level, pull thrus for RVs! Very friendly welcome.
Just off base, address is 499 South Rd. Bedford, MA
Office is not at the beginning of campground, but just follow the road around the perimeter. Must have base access, vehicle registration, pets rabies certificates

Nancy
For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: This is a great place to stay in the Boston area. No reservations but host says they have never turned anyone away. It is close to the runway which has military and civilian planes. Noisy but they don’t seem to fly at night. Easy to catch the T into Boston from the area and park your Truck. Lots of history in the area. Full hookups with pad and table. Parking is gravel. No internet but WiFi near the clubhouse. We camped with a 40 ft fifth wheel. Lots of big rigs.

For Hanscom AFB FamCamp: May 2018 in a 32’ motorhome: this famcamp has reasonably spaced sites and there’s enough room for your mat and awning and to park your tow. There is no cable and the wifi was not adequate. We arrived the first day of the season and it filled up quickly within a couple of days. The check in process was a nightmare because there were a dozen or more of us waiting to check in and we were not allowed to go to our site until we completed the registration which involved showing rig registration, insurance proof and proof of rabies vaccines for pets causing a backup while people dig through their paperwork and a traffic jam of rigs—extremely difficult to maneuver around those still waiting. This literally took an hour. The camp is directly next to an airfield but, although aircraft activity was frequent, it was not particularly bothersome, the aircraft being mostly small. The showers were kinda old and grody and I wouldn’t have used them. The laundry was very reasonable—$1 each I believe. The day before we left, we went to the office to arrange for propane the next morning and discovered a notice that the hosts would be gone for two days so we had to leave w/o a refill. Overall, there is nothing special about this famcamp except it’s proximity to Boston. If you love Boston, it’s an okay place. Bring your paperwork.
