For Barksdale AFB FamCamp: Visited the Barksdale FamCamp for 3 weeks in June/July 2018. The campground is soon to-be 2 sections; the current 42 sites (mostly back-in; first-come, first-serve) and 20 new sites (all pull-thru) which can be reserved in advance (likely to open in October). The Good: Friendly, helpful staff; quiet location; nice main facility; paved sites; able to pick up plenty of TV stations on digital antenna. Wifi better than most other FamCamps. Close to large park if you have little ones; about 1 mile from Shoppette. Many sites are well-shaded. The Not-so Good: About 9 spots are backwards (utility-wise). These spots are okay for small trailers (ability to back-out or turn around due to space), but doors face the neighbors. Laundry, a spacious facility is an odd-configuration. More dryers than washers, which is also shared with the "cabin" lodging; 12 single-wide trailers that are on the campground as well. Camp staff double-duty as linen exchange and use the FamCamp laundry facility for cabin linens, which can take hours to complete. Gravel road was a little rutted-out during our stay, but looks to be maintained periodically. The Shoppette mentioned above is tiny; Exchange/Commissary is 8 miles away. Limited activities nearby. A few folks that look entrenched with personal effects strewn about their sites. For the soon to be open new camp sites, there looks to be standalone facility which will house shower rooms and laundry (3 washers/dryers). The new campsites is in a cleared area...no shade during hot summers. Overall, pretty happy about our experience and would recommend. We stayed in a 36' TT.

For Barksdale AFB FamCamp: Came in to stay for a few days to explore Shreveport, but were disappointed in the Fam camp. Sites were messy and junky, and muddy. That camp mascot must be the mosquito, because there were millions of them. Obviously no spraying or eradicating is being done. The little camp store and bathroom are nothing to speak of. We decided to only stay one night and move on.

For Barksdale AFB FamCamp: We came in with another rig but there was only one site available. They arranged for our friend to pull alongside us on the grass. The stanchion had a 50 and a 30 amp connection so we both had electric. A splitter on the spigot gave us both water. The Wifi was outstanding. The campsites are a little close but it is a pleasant campground nonetheless. A small snack bar sells beer, soda, and snacks. B-52 bombers screamed overhead until 11 p.m. but, hey, it's an Air Force Base.

For Barksdale AFB FamCamp: Very nice cam site. Stayed only one night, but would have liked to stay longer. Staff is great, the gate closest to park was closed but on the phone they guided us in and got us parked

For Barksdale AFB FamCamp: I lived here for a month and a half before buying a house. This FAMCAMP was quiet and secure, with a slow but ok wireless internet. I had a storm roll through and dropped branches on my brand new TT RV, puncturing it all the way through. I filed a claim for my insurance deductible, and they denied it. Just be aware of where you put your camper! The clubhouse was clean and had decent showers and a laundry room with washer and dryer that barely worked. I'd stay again, but it's not the greatest place to go.

For Barksdale AFB FamCamp: Quiet and peaceful park, easy to find, friendly camp hosts. Pull thru spaces and back-ins; some sites have more land/space around them than others. Level cement pad, full hookups at each site, each site had its own trash can, no cable, no Wi-Fi, very clean restroom and bath facilities. Wish we could have spent more than one night.
