For Fort De Soto Park: Really wonderful destination. Beautiful sites, clean and so much to do. Beach, paddle boarding, bike riding, fishing… Only wish list item would be to have a full hookup. Challenge to reserve sites on consecutive days yet saw that many sites go unused. We would love to come back!

For Fort De Soto Park: We came following the opening after Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The only major changes we saw included the closure of North Beach which is being cleaned from storm damage and there were a few trees that appeared to have fallen and taken away in the campground. The sites might be slightly less private but very slight. Lanes through the campground were in good shape but I suspect the ruts will come as more and more heavy trailers pass through. They were doing a good job keeping it watered down for dust and then raking it following. Many of the sites had new gravel and as usual they are so clean between visits. Thank you park volunteers. My only complaint as usual is the lack of privacy in most of the shower buildings. Otherwise, it is still my happy place.

For Fort De Soto Park: Beautiful campground. We’ll maintained. Can’t check in till 1:00 and trailers were backed up along road waiting to get in. You do have to pay 3 tolls to get out there and if you go I to town and come back. We’ll maintained frustrating that said no vacancies and yet 4 days we were there a lot of waterfront sites open the whole time but we couldn’t get a waterfront site heard residents book and never come. Still beautiful campground and we will be back. Saw manatees.

For Fort De Soto Park: We stayed in #193 and #199 for one night each, end of June. We are a 45ft motorhome and were a little worried about our height, 13’1”, but we got in both sites. Both sites felt private with all the trees. 50Amp service and water at each site. The water spout on #199 was only 12” off the ground. There was a huge line of people at 9am at the dump stations. We would definitely consider this for the winter months.

For Fort De Soto Park: Loved our time here! We had a site on the boat channel and loved it. We saw dolphins and so many birds from our site. We kayaked with manatees. We walked on the beach and the few trails. We faced the sunrise each morning. It was just wonderful. The bathrooms were dated, but clean, and the laundry was useful. My only complaint was that I found the reservation system to be super hard to navigate and use. And yeah, the roads were dusty. But well worth it!

For Fort De Soto Park: This is a beautiful park, make no mistake about it. Clean. Well maintained. Many sites right on the water. Deserves 5 stars. My concern about the park is that the website and entrance to the park both states no vacancy. At 7 am the morning after we arrived (we got up early to see the sunrise), we drove around the park and noted a good 3 dozen empty campsites. While I understand that some people cancel or don’t show up, 36+ sites should not be unavailable. The county should address this as it is so difficult to reserve but yet so many sites are open.
