For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): Our stay at Redwoood Coast was much better than predicted by all preceding reviews. We arrived early on May , 2024 and had no issues checking into a nice pull-thru site with FHU. The host and office manager, Jenna was absolutely perfect. She worked with us on our unknown departure date and gave us good hiking and restaurant recommendations for nearby Trinidad. As to long term campers, yes they were there, but I think that’s the world we live in regardless. We also had neighbors in a huge Tiffin and unless you saw what site they emerge from you’d never know the difference as everyone was incredibly friendly and not sketch. Also, all amenities of a KOA, yet half the price, a great location bike-able to town and everything was well kept and clean. Good Wi-Fi, too!

For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): Unkept, tight spaces and, although the staff was friendly and helpful , we were disappointed with the lack of concern by the Manager after we informed het that an untrimmed tree had caught our ladder and tore it off our RV. We won’t be going back.

For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): Actually grade 2.5 stars. Camp ground 3 stars, experience knocked the score down to 2.5 Good: Friendly staff. Well maintained sites and campground. Reasonable rates for CA. Nice playground for kids. Decent laundry mat. Dog friendly with nice/grass dog run Bad: Water dish in dog run hasn’t been cleaned in years, if ever. A lot of long term/permanent residence with unkept/older rigs. Not all of the long term residence are overly welcoming Ugly: Two long term residence got into an altercation during our stay. The police had to intervene.

For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): I don't even know what to say, except pick somewhere else. Last summer we stayed for a few days. I reserved a few days for this summer because I'm an idiot. Got the reservation confirmed by email- didn't notice my name was misspelled by one single letter- and stopped in to the office to inquire about paying early. It turned out they gave me a reservation under the wrong name and that I was actually, in fact, banned from the park. What??? They revealed that in their system I was banned due to "pet damages". My service dog did not cause any property damage and the cabin was left clean. I asked if there was any detail about these supposed damages and no, there were not. I asked if there was someone I could speak to as no one had ever contacted me about this issue. The larger blond woman said, "I am the only one" (that I could speak with) and added that I was also banned from shoreline park- which I had never been to. The owner is John C. That's all I know and I had to search. The hold on my credit card is still there. It's only a few dollars but I'm going to cut my losses. Last time we stayed we were prohibited from flushing tp down the toilet and the bathrooms were not only unclean, but really disgusting because the garbage bins had soiled tp from all the different campers which wasn't attended to. The Wi-Fi never worked although it was advertised and the power went out preventing me from using my bipap. Also, the pool and playground areas were so closely monitored it was a uncomfortable being on camera and being immediately confronted about a minor infraction (that was quickly righted) moments after it happened like I was being closely watched. Weird staff, pretty unfriendly. There are plenty of other friendlier and more accommodating beautiful cabins and resorts to choose from in Humboldt. Read the reviews. This place is really depressing, run down and the staff is rude.

For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): I agree with John from November. We stayed for 2 nights on Superbowl weekend. When we arrived, they placed us in a pull through site next to an employee’s site with two dogs. As we have a young dog who gets over excited by other dogs, we asked to be moved to one of the many empty sites. The place was about 1/3 full. Even though we have a van and she wanted to place us in a back in site, she said she could not access their online registration to give us a refund, so she put us in another pull through and said we would be fine. The next evening at about 6:30, we got a knock on our door from another camper who insisted we move as he had a reservation for this site. We found, the woman in the office failed to write down our site change on anything, so we moved to the site originally assigned. The electrical in the site we moved to did not work. The dog park was disgusting. I cleaned up two shovel fulls of poop before I could let my dog loose. I have a picture of all the poop, but I know none of you want to see it. The yard wasn’t the only place with poop. It was all over. There were several dogs off leash. On the positive, the bathrooms were clean at least until the partiers trashed the men’s restroom.

For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): AVOID…AVOID…AVOID…Highly recommend steering clear of this place. While it may have been nice when it originally opened, it’s not well maintained. Some of the staff are friendly, but others were observed visibly intoxicated including smoking weed in the pool area (with children around). We also observed numerous permanent residents and their barking dogs, broken/hazardous put-put-golf course and RV sites used as dumping grounds. After several days, our family and those traveling with us decided to relocate to another campground.

Willam

For Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Resort (former KOA): Called and was told only one site left for the weekend. The person helping on the phone was friendly and very helpful. Came in after office was closed. We grabbed our paperwork and started back to the site. The front half of the park is dry but was nice and the sites looked clean. We got around to the site and it looked trashy! Stuff from a long term tenant was left laying around! The ground was tore up and the trees were so overgrown that we couldn’t even open the slider. I told them I had a 30’ fifth wheel. The road to back in from was only twelve foot wide with tent campers parked everywhere! Pulled out and dry camped instead . Not to trash them but better knowledge should have been known from the staff. The long term is not hopefully what the park is about. If it is I would have rated them a 1!
