For Trailer Village South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park: My review is from the following perspective. My wife and I travel 6-7 months a year in a 45-foot Class A Motorhome towing a trailer for our car (72-foot total length rig). We’ve visited over 400 campgrounds, RV Parks in the last 10 years. Dry camping to resorts, we have done them all. Generally, I would say we are NOT campers. We are travelers looking for a site to base our adventures from in our rolling home (for maybe a 60-mile radius), so we are not big on RESORTS. People who rate this “park” 4,5 stars are not rating the park but rating the Grand Canyon! The RV park it’s self is a Solid 2 really! I’ll start off with the “Classic Sites”. At some point in the last century the streets and site pads were paved with Asphalt. That was long ago and nothing appears to have been done to them since. The pads in this area of the campground are mostly level but the roads and site pads are graveled and potholed unlike the premium sites. Power boxes may have meters on them indicating long term users (employees?) use a portion of this section. Trees are mostly mature but not trimmed in any way and if you have a RV over 10 to 11 feet tall scraping the top and sides of you RV is likely but not in every case. All sites appear to have 50amp service, water and sewer. There is no curb appeal, you are very close to your neighbor, and sites are not maintained in any way for appearance. You may have a picnic table but not guaranteed. No fire ring or grill, no patio, many sites have extra vehicles, dolly’s, trailers parked in the dirt next to the pad. The Premium Sites (also termed “full hookup” on their map). Roads and pads have been paved in the last few years so generally they are pot hole free. Sites tend to be slightly out of level (downhill) and tilt to one side or the other. Electrical boxes are in decent shape, water and sewer connections are mostly worn out and repaired multiple times (note that water pressure here is low and slow). It appears all sites have a picnic table and grill for charcoal use only per the rules. There are mature trees that have not been pruned or cared for in anyway. It is likely that you will find some with the top or sides of your RV. Dead wood on trees is also present and nothing is being done to take care of those issues. Campground has no curb appeal and is just a place to park side by side with full hookups with gravel/ dirt spilling onto the pads in almost every case. No maintenance is being done here except to keep power, water sewer working (example of this is the charcoal grills are full of brickette ashes). Again, many sites have cars, trailers, other vehicles parked in the dirt/gravel of the site next to the RV as there is no overflow or extra vehicle parking. My iPhone 13 on Verizon was getting 2-3 bars all the time but was still very slow. Satelite reception for most users will be good but an occasional tree might block you in certain sites. If you are like me and expect a nicer, more upscale accommodation when you pay $80, $90, $100 or more per night you will be very disappointed here. The only real benefit to this campground/ area is that you are in the park and don’t have to drive in each day which involves a wait time at the entrance of 10 to 45 minutes depending on entrance time. Grand Canyon Shuttle (that is almost a requirement to use) comes to the park about every 15 minutes is easy to use (if it is not full) but it will take you a minimum of 30 minutes to reach any destination using this method of transportation. If you have an electric bike, use it instead. Campground is at 7,000+ feet. Beware of altitude sickness which can affect anyone not just the elderly.

For Trailer Village South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park: Very good campground in NP. Yes it’s pricey but otherwise you have the 60 min drive into the park every day. All pull thru with full services and cable. Walk to store ($$$) and shuttle to everywhere nearby. Even a great clinic nearby. 41’ Motorcoach towing Jeep. Gravel with asphalt pad. Good water pressure and clean bathrooms. Showers short walk away. Do not try to receive mail here. They’ll give you a PO Box number to send stuff to but impossible to depend on getting things even with a full post office. Deer and Elk can walk thru park. 10 days and a good stop.

For Trailer Village South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park: I love this park! You are right inside the national park so you have easy access to the park. There is a shuttle stop at the entrance to the campground- just a short walk from your site. Our site was mostly level, utilities worked well, cable tv was a nice touch and we had about 3 bars of service with AT&T. We were entertained daily by the herd of elk that roam through the campground. I would definitely recommend this park.

For Trailer Village South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park: Access to the South Rim from Trailer Village is amazing! Sites at Trailer Village RV Park are paved, but not very level. They are staggered so even though you are close, you are not in your neighbor’s face. Nice picnic table, grill was full of old coals, but we have our own grill. Huge bull elk greeted us at our site with multiple elk wandering through every day of our weeks’ stay. No need to unhook vehicles as transportation is free and easy. Free shuttle bus 2 minute walk from our site with buses running every 10 minutes or so. Given maps and Grand Canyon info at check-in. Easy walk to Visitor’s Center, Market Plaza, and South Rim. There are many trails between South Rim sites so don’t forget your map!! There are trees that do need trimming. Verizon 3 bars LTE and 5G on newer phones. Slow WiFi at General Store. Absolutely worth the price to have such easy access to the Grand Canyon and the comforts of home and the option of eating out or at “home”.

For Trailer Village South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park: Very disappointed for a National Park private run campground. Over priced for a dump. Very close sites, no maintenance, cable boxes smashed and didn’t work. Sewer and fresh water connections a foot apart very unsanitary did not connect to water. Lamp post bent over, so called fire pits were a couple of rocks. Only good thing is it’s close to the store and trails to the rim. Got into the park run campground ( Mathers ) major difference. For Trailer Village South Rim - Grand Canyon National Park: I have a 44’ motor home (13’1” hard clearance) and had no problem getting our rig into the site. The check-in was smooth and elk were waiting for us at our pull-through. Water pressure was great as well as the cable TV. The bathrooms, although dated, were adequate. There is limited to no ATT coverage, but a short drive to nearby hotels got 4 full bars on the phone and WiFi. The place is a bit rustic, but the rim is a short bike ride away. Not many National Parks can accommodate big rigs, but this is one of them! Showers were not available as they still have COVID lock down in places.
