For Gunter Hill: Site 21. Loved this park. Large easy to access back in and pull thru sites. Heated showers separate from bathrooms . Adequate. Would definitely use again. Stayed two nights

For Gunter Hill: There are two classes of camping at this park. The Antioch loop is 1-2 stars. The Catoma loop is 4-5 stars. We stayed in Antioch. Sewage smell at times overpowering at our site. Bath house is marginal. People abrupt and less than helpful.

For Gunter Hill: Camped in Catoma Loop in November 2018. Large wooded sites are easy to back in, some pull thru. Play areas for kids, did not use restrooms or showers as we had full hook up. Laundry was not clean or working when we were here. No night gate security but park was very quiet. T-Mobile cell service not good. 25 minutes to good shopping and restaurants. We would stay again, large shaded sites with tables and fire rings in a quiet campground.

For Gunter Hill: Very reasonable, nice woodsy setting, large sites, full hookup in catoma loop. But...... No access to water, so no fishing, sites were not kept up, restrooms not very clean, toilets didn’t flush always, old plumbing needs updating, very lax gate security. The whole park needs care, compared to other coe campgrounds we have used. The staff and the park seemed TIRED. We had a 33ft tt and were there September 26-October 3.

Donald Chamberlain

For Gunter Hill: We stayed one night and it poured upon arrival. It was a very good pull through site with cell service and full hookups. Similar to the other US Army Corp of Engineers it was in excellent shape. We did not use the facilities due to the torrential rain and left in the morning.

For Gunter Hill: This is the first review I’ve ever done, but feel the need to share because this campground is wonderful! My husband and I decided to buy a camper to travel when we retired 5 years ago. We had NEVER camped before 😊! We needed to stay somewhere close to learn how everything worked and found Gunter Hill. We were spoiled! We thought this was what campgrounds were all like. Since that time, we traveled extensively from FL to NY. For the price ($13 per night with a Senior Pass), there is NOTHING TO COMPARE. The sites are large, easy to navigate, concrete pads, LEVEL, clean, private and shaded (some are not if you need that). My husband’s only complaint is no cable. Only other negative we’ve found after camping here 5 times, once we had a problem with ants. Now we know to watch and take precautions. The area is remote. My advice if you need/want local GO TO PRATTVILLE. The west side of Montgomery is not the best area. Closest nice/easiest to access area is Prattville/Millbrook (Walmart, etc.), I65 N, exits 179 and 181. Also, there is a 10 night limit so no full time sites, which can sometimes be a distraction, IMHO. BTW, our next favorite campground is on I95 Ashland, VA , Americamps. Tell them Jim and Ellen from AL said “hello!!”
