For Sunset Reef Campground: Great FREE campground just down the road from CCNP. Sites are level, have a picnic table with shade structure on concrete, bbq and separate fire pit with flip up grill. 6 tent sites, 5 pull through RV sites, trash bins and a single vault toilet. Would definitely stay here again!

For Sunset Reef Campground: Stayed 5 days before Christmas great blm campground. Plenty of room for our hdt and 43 foot fiver. Very wide spots with table and pavilion. 5 rv sites and about 7 very nice tent sites. Spots fill up mid afternoon. It would help if vans would take a tent site and leave the long spots for trailers or motor homes. Vault toilets spotless. Fire pits and grills at every site. Definitely will stop here again.

For Sunset Reef Campground: Great BLM boondocking site. Tent and RV sites with ramadas. We arrived in the afternoon on a Saturday and those were all full, so we camped on the perimeter by the fence. No problem for our 44’ Class A towing. The campground was full by dark. It is about 3/4 mile off the highway at the end of a gravel road, but if you go slow should be no problem. There are vault toilets on site and the whole area is fairly level. Nice view of the mountains and close to Carlsbad Caverns.
