For Baxter Springs Campground: The city has done a wonderful job of improving this campground! replaced all electrical posts with new 50/30/20 connections. Water connections are shared between 2 sites. Nice level sites, several full hookups, several pull-thrus. Lots of shade, peaceful setting. No bath/shower house.

For Baxter Springs Campground: Closed for “maintenance†looked like it needs it. The one on the other side of the river was a mud hole

For Baxter Springs Campground: Sites with water and electric are on the west side of the river. Guy from the city came around about 10am to collect payment. Just a few other campers, so we enjoyed the green space and quiet. There were locals fishing and driving around. Fire pits, tables, and old-school playground equipment all in fine working order. Pretty wildflowers and birds singing. Our family of 4 camped in a travel trailer in April.

For Baxter Springs Campground: This place was amazing! Stayed 1 night in mid-November and we were the only ones here. Beauty large trees by the river and only $10 with electricity! A man came around to collect within a few minutes of our parking. There is water at each site and they have a dump station, too.

For Baxter Springs Campground: Stayed the night with a 30 ft 5th wheel. Nice little town park by the river. Less than half full. Water and electricity (50 Amp) at the sites. Sign says you need a permit from the town police to camp overnight. Had a phone number posted to call, but no place to leave money. I called and got the County offices that told me that the town police do it differently now. They come around to collect the money in the morning. $5.00 with no electricity, $10 if you use the electricity. They do have a dump station.
There is anouther town park across the river nestled up to the sewage lagoon. Very small places to camp, and the turnaround might work with a pickup camper. Do not start down the road with anything bigger. The previous assessment is an opinion.
