For Cosmic International Dark Sky Sanctuary: Stargazers delight! Gravel road into campground off the main road. Some washboarding, secure your cabin beforehand. Road accessible to Class A coaches. Only 6 sites for RVs, which tent campers sometimes occupy. Lots of spaces to park and camp along the gravel road before and after the main campsite (maybe not for larger RVs though.) New moons and weekends tend to be busier days. It is a RARE gem being a dark sky sanctuary. Once informed, non-stargazers tend to comply with limited or red lighting requests at night. Milkyway is very visible at night. Magnitude 7/8 objects can be spotted with a smaller telescope here. Only camp amenity offered are 2 well maintained vault toilets. Watch your fuel and water.

For Cosmic International Dark Sky Sanctuary: Free. Vault toilets. 6 RV sites plus additional informal sites right outside of campground. No issues. Only one other camper.

For Cosmic International Dark Sky Sanctuary: Nice tiny campground in one of the prettier parts of southern New Mexico. There are 6 sites in the main developed area, but at least three areas right off the gravel road headed into it where one could stay since it’s in the national forest. I stayed off the gravel road since the six sites were taken already. A ranger came by and confirmed there were no issues camping where I did.
