For Thompson Grove Picnic Area: Been here 10 days and have enjoyed most of it so far. The half mile dirt road to get in here could use some more gravel mixed in because if it rains the road get to slick to safely pull my 23ft Rockwood outta here. I went down it without my rig and nearly got stuck a few times. Quite a few overnighters stop in, sometimes late at night and have been very respectfully quiet when setting up their tents and other gear. Star gazing is fantastic. Saw a pronghorn give birth to twins today. Saw a white coyote running across the grasslands a few days ago. Will come back again on my return trip to Florida.

For Thompson Grove Picnic Area: We were looking for a place to stay in or near the Rita Blanca National Grasslands. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in late October in our 25 foot MH. This is a pleasant, free place to stay, near the center of RBNG. It's 0.5 mi off the main paved road through the park. It's a picnic area by day and RVs may camp overnight in the flat, gravel parking lot. There'd be room for about 4-6 RVs comfortably if all cooperated on parking. There was one other RV on our stay. There are no utilities. There's a pit toilet and picnic tables. There was good ATT and Verizon cell coverage. We had a quiet night. There are dirt roads nearby for walking.
