For Wooded Area - Goose Island State Park: We have camped here twice. We love this park The birding is excellent during migratory times. The park has birding volunteers as well which is wonderful. The camping sites are very nice and the amenities are kept up well. The surrounding area is great for exploring, too. We fished here from the pier which has been recently repaired. We caught a nice flounder! We will continue to come here in the future.

For Wooded Area - Goose Island State Park: I always enjoy my stays at this park. Pier and shore rv slots are open. I rather enjoy warbler area. It is quiet and the brush is kept trimmed. Restrooms are clean. I have no complaints. Oh did I mention they have fishing poles and license is not required.

For Wooded Area - Goose Island State Park: Staying here 7 nights. In the wooded area sites are very private but good size. We are enjoying our time here. The bathhouse is in the process of remodeled. Still open and functional. Park rangers are very helpful. Had no issues with Verizon during our stay. No opinion on hurricane damage because this our first time. Love the quiet. 12/28/19

For Wooded Area - Goose Island State Park: Sites in the wooded area offer a lot of privacy. Long walk to the bathhouse from our site. Birding guide volunteers offer walks every day. Some nice spots for birdwatching also by yourself. Facilities need some upgrades. Close proximity to Rockport for restocking on groceries.

For Wooded Area - Goose Island State Park: First time to go camping at Goose Island since the hurricane hit. The wooded area sites are the only sites open. The bay sites have not reopened and the pier isn't repaired for fishing. Granted we knew it would be hot but we were not prepared for the misquotes. We literally could not get out of the camper. Much brush and debris still decomposing and lots of oaks lost. In time it will be a great park again. Camped on July 15th 2018 and just stayed one night.
