For Shady Side - Sumner Lake State Park: We stayed in site 2 in Pecos campground for a week over July 4th. It is quiet and empty during the week but the weekends bring in campers along the shore. The lake is beautiful and we found many nice trails near the water to hike with our dogs. They were releasing water into the Pecos River while we were here. It was hot and most sites are only 30 amp but it kept up. We lost power one afternoon but the Ranger came over and got us back up and running. Sites are electric and water only. The dump station is convenient. We stayed here in our 40' fifth wheel.
