For Palamino - Caballo Lake State Park: This is a gorgeous park. Palomino Loop overlooks the Caballo Lake. We we're in Site 4 in our 40' fifth wheel. We kayaked & hiked all the trails. We were here in May & the plants & trees were all in bloom. We will definitely stay here again.

For Palamino - Caballo Lake State Park: I stayed at the Palamino loop site 3 at Caballo Lake State Park Campground from January 15 -27, 2020 in a Lance truck camper. Site 3 is next to camp host site and since no one in residence I had no side neighbor. Best lake view probably site 2. Campground on a 18 mile long lake created by damming Rio Grande further north Elephant Butte lake which is 40 miles long. Little boating activity that time of year and excellent kayaking and bird watching. All gravel campground with a little dust. Bathroom clean with hot showers although strangely no shower curtains. Good Verizon reception no WIFI. Truth or Consequences about 16 miles away good museum and Tony's Mexican Restaurant was excellent. Good repairs O'Neal RV services Elephant Butte. Cost 19$ per day which I thought was a good value for full services. Dry camping on shore even cheaper with no neighbors and great view of lake and mountains on the far side. Campground staff were friendly and helpful. Weather generally 40s at night and 60s during the day.
