For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: Wonderful wonderful wonderful. Beautiful view of the lake, full hook ups and close to Rifle to resupply. Defiantly a 5 star. However we had a strange situation happen. There was a tent set up in our space when we arrived well after check in time. Called the office for help. The young person who answered was clueless. She called for a Ranger, but there was not one available. The pause on the other end of the line was very long. I finally said we’d go ahead and park in the space and the Ranger could sort it out when they arrived. A Ranger never arrived. Finally two young men appeared, apologized, verbalized so lame story, and took their belongings. We were all young once, and camping without paying is the worst they’ve ever done, I’m okay with that.

For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: We were here on a weeknight in September. It’s not a short drive out from I-70. Very clean. Little and no shade. Concrete pads. It was cloudy the night we were there, but I think it would be pretty dark sky and good for stars otherwise.

For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: Clean, neat park with good sized gravel sites. Some fhu, rest 30 & 50 amp. Water and dump station available. Big Rig friendly. Hwy 325 from Hwy 13 is narrow and very curvy. Gave it 4 stars because there is no AT&T or Verizon cell service. Did get T-Mobile, but only with booster. Would stay here again. We stayed here in motorhome.

For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: Really nice state park. Our second time here and stayed a week. Sites are spacious, concrete and level, with large gravel patios and covered picnic tables. Hosts clean and rake the sites after each departure. Quiet with nice views. Stormy afternoons during our stay and we watched lightening displays over the mountains. We had an annual Colorado state park pass, otherwise it is an extra $9/day. We will be back. Rifle has some nice restaurants. Check out Rifle Falls and the city park in the canyon. Saw a herd of elk on the road to the west of the dam.

For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: Very nice park with level cement pads, well organized full hook-ups. Table and fire pit on manicured gravel; some sites have a shelter over the table. Bathrooms are spotless and well lit; however, showers are pay. Few is great and sunsets fantastic. I think Colorado Wildlife and Parks needs to streamline the checkin process. We arrived after the entrance station was closed, so had to use self-pay, no problem, except: Apparently they expect you to purchase the $8.00 daily pass just to check if a campsite is available. Then, fill out another form and return to the entrance, about a mile, and deposit the payment. The self pay sign said that prices are posted at the campground, but we couldn’t find anything listed; found a hoist and asked him. If someone from CPW reads this, how about, the visitor finds their campsite, fills out the overnight form, if they have an annual pass they enter a number and pay, in this case $32.00 and if they don’t have annual pass they pay $40.00. Then the payment is deposited in a collection device at the campground. Saves the visitor the hassle of driving back and forth and cuts CPW’s printing costs in half.

For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: Really Nice state park. Of note, must pay CO state park daily admission or annual pass. Sites are terraced up a hill with full hookups. Some have nice lake views. All are nicely spaced. Cement pads with gravel patios and tables. Lots of space for walking dogs. Very friendly camp hosts. Rifle a cute small town to visit. Be sure and check out Rifle Gap SP as well as Rifle Mountain municipal park where there were several rock climbers. Only drawback- no cell service or OTA TV. We are already planning a return.

For Lakeview - Rifle Gap State Park: Nice state park with great full hookup sites. Level concrete pads with gravel patio areas. Very clean park. The sites are terraced up the hill so good views of the lake. The small lake is a beautiful turquoise color, although the lake was very low when we were there in July 2017. There's boating, fishing, and swimming in the lake. Lots of hummingbirds when we were there. The one negative is no cell service for AT&T or Verizon. We will return when in the area.
