For Tuttletown RA - Acorn - BOR: I was getting pretty annoyed spending $33 a night at Calif state parks and getting minimal services, crummy bathrooms. Was on my way to casino when we found this place. A very picturesque setting (in the Acorn loop), nicely spaced and level sites, very quiet, and good roads. Bathrooms were so so. Pay showers. Mine worked well, but wife said hers was very poor. At least the water was hot. Campground is on the shore of New Lake Melones which is now up to 75 % full after years of drought. With our senior pass, we only paid $11 per night. Stayed an extra 2 days waiting for the weather to improve so we could drive into Yosemite. Don't bother going to Big Tree State Park. Very disappointing.
