For Horseshoe Flats Campground: Really nice place, nice people. Quiet. They only take 9 RVs the rest of the site is for tent camping. The rv sites are all with electric, water, and sewer. Free WiFi, and Indoor and outdoor showers, they also have a fish cleaning station AND a private boat launch. Price is reasonable for the view and amenities. The is a laundromat in the town of Scottsville a very short drive away. The campground is located in a horseshoe bend of the James River. Depending on the river level you are able to kayak up river for quite a ways the float back down to the campground. During high water that may not be as possible. We went in autumn and the river was low. Lovely place easy to get to. You can get a pretty large rig in there, but stop once you get to the Y in the driveway and walk to the office. Where the rvs park is easy to access but if you drive down where the tents go the turn is tight and the trees low so you may get in trouble. So stop when you see the no trespassing sign and you will be fine.
