For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: This NPS campground has few amenities. One bathroom is boarded up. The available bathroom is pretty tired and the toilets don’t flush very well. On the positive side, our campsite— an asphalt pull through on the upper level— was very nice and the largest I think we’ve ever had. Quiet except for the two rigs next two us who ran generators for hours. We were there on a Sunday night and there were several open sites. The trail off the camping area leads to a very clean shallow river. Trails are rather eroded and had a lot of poison ivy. Would definitely stay again.

For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: Had read reviews prior to arrival and expected no services. Sad to see this once beautiful small NPS campground deteriorated and poorly maintained. No camp host and poorly patrolled- did not feel safe after a group of 3 cars parked at the trailhead near our site and proceeded to camp illegally (undesignated site), partying all night. When they were still there in the morning, we drove 15 miles to the nearest town to get cell service so we could call the ranger emergency #. Although the water at the sinks was off, the bathroom was open and not clean or maintained. Picnic table at our site was rotting. Would not expect this in a NP.

For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: Not a bad place for free. Sites are spaced well, shady wooded, some level others not. Flush toilets but no soap. At least they had toilet paper. Must have rained a lot before we got there as there was standing water everywhere even on the hills. The abandoned toilet was in bad shape and may have been what stunk so bad about dark. My wife was gagging from the smell for a while but it eased up after dark. You get what you pay for, not well maintained at this time but its free.

For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: This was a great find. We’ll maintained campsites. Nestled just off the Natchez Parkway. Would spend the night again if we’re ever in the area. No electric or water hookups. Boondocking only. The pull through site are huge if you have a larger R.V. We have a class B van, so we used a back in site. They have bathrooms, but no showers. It’s beautiful! Free. No registration required.

PJS
For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: This campground appears to have been abandoned. The entrance has no sign. Only one bathroom is operational, the other is boarded up. The sites are not maintained. The picnic table at my site was rotten and falling apart to the point it was unusable. The roads have been recently paved and the sites are accessible. I was told that it has been this way for several years. However, it is free and the sites offer shade.

For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: 3 stars because it's free. In need of paving. Not level pads. Needs repaving.

Dewey
For Rocky Springs Campground - Natchez Trace Parkway: No hookups. It does have flush toilets. It's not bad for free. Lots of shade and asphalt pads for rv's. Some pull thru sites. No sign up, just pull in to empty spot and enjoy.
