For Leitner Lake Recreation Area Fort Gordon: Stayed at Leitner Lake in Nov 2021 and Jan 2022. Has backin and pull through sites with full Hookups. Nice bath house and free washer/dryer on small lake. Quite deep in the woods of Fort Gordon. Very quiet, friendly camp host. Sites are generally level. All post amenities are here (exchange, commissary, class six, animal vet, car repair, post office, huge playground, dog park, ect) and minutes from dining and shopping in Grovetown and Evans. Camp is located Off of range road and firing ranges which poses no issues whatsoever. Ft Gordon is huge so be prepared to drive a bit. Enter and exit thru the new Gate 6 would definitely stay again!

For Leitner Lake Recreation Area Fort Gordon: Peaceful stop. We entered through gate 6 roughly 4 miles past gate 1. Second exit on first circle and first exit off second circle, will match map that’s emailed. Gate 6 has several large lanes to enter the post. When you approach tactical bldg stay to left (it’s one way) drive goes in a circle. Must post sign they give you in rig window visible to host. Host is on-site evenings. Bathhouse is recently remodeled and clean. Free (2) washers and (2) dryers. We stayed on site #15 long back in (43ft fifth wheel). The pull thrus are finished (I’d recommend asking for one if you have a large rig). Hilly roads…most being repaved. 10-15 min to exchange and commissary. Spoke to a long stay individual and they pay $425/mo no electric bill. Verizon worked good, no cable or wifi but did get several OTA (over the air) channels.

For Leitner Lake Recreation Area Fort Gordon: We’ve been here for a few months now. It’s actually my second time staying here. It’s a great little quiet rv park. Very well maintained, clean, and organized. There’s nothing in the way of actual amenities, other than free washers and dryers, and a clean shower house, and a small lake. It’s away from any populated areas, so super quiet. Due to the remoteness, it does take a few minutes to get in and out of the immediate area.

For Leitner Lake Recreation Area Fort Gordon: My wife and I stayed at Leitner for four nights in early May, 2019. Still beautiful, but we didn’t see any infrastructure problems. None. The showers are modern, well maintained, very clean. Two free washers and dryers. No power or sewer hookup issues. 22 spots but 12 more (6 pull-through) about to come on line. Directions in the previous post largely correct but we saw no internal checkpoint. There is no WiFi, a lack compounded by very on and off cell signal strength. The location is about a 20 minute drive from Gate 1 so getting provisions ahead of time is wise. There is a campsite host but he doesn’t handle registration. The recommended practice is to call ahead to see if there are openings, go to the campground to stake out the desired available site, and then register at a separate MWR location. Retirees pay $15.00 a night. We would use this place again. But arrive during daylight or you may have a heck of a time finding your way to the campground, particularly the first time.

For Leitner Lake Recreation Area Fort Gordon: What a beautiful place! We evacuated during hurricane Irma. Since we have a smaller camper we like to use the campground facilities. They were very dated and need to be replaced for sure... they were filthy when we got there and during our 4 day stay they were NEVER cleaned. The shower water runs down the entire washroom because the water can't drain. Toilets don't flush well and disgusting.
We hope that this issue gets taken care of in the future, because it's A beautiful place and we would love to come back.
