For Peaks of Otter Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: Many open sites, both reservable and non-reserve Sunday evening the end of July. Tried out 4 before I found one level enough. The park needs work, but they are working on it. My Site had nice new concrete around & under the new picnic table. The showerless bathroom was a long steep walk away, so I didn’t check it out. RV camp loop borders Highway 43 to Bedford, so there was traffic noise. $15 / night for Golden Age passport.

STGMNOBPF

For Peaks of Otter Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: This is a lovely location just across the road from Abbott Lake, which has a nice walkway all around it, nice hiking trails, walking distance to the restaurant at PoO. The campground itself is badly and long neglected. Roads need to be repaved, and most of the sites should be re-leveled. Tables are overgrown with moss. Most of the reservable sites are the worst in terms of size and levelness.

Nancy

For Peaks of Otter Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: This is a lovely older campground on the side of a mountain on the blue ridge parkway. It’s cool and shady with a short walk to the lake and lodge. They had plenty of open fcfs sites on a Saturday in July!

For Peaks of Otter Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: Not very good for 30+ foot for RVs. The roads and sites are in rough shape. $20 a night seems a bit much but I guess for staying on the brp that's what you get. Also this was one of the few national park campground on the brp open this early in May.

MN

For Peaks of Otter Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: Repaving would be nice, but besides that it is a pleasant place to overnight during a trip along Blue Ridge Parkway. Shop closes at 5, so be in time or bring food and drinks.

Sachmo

For Peaks of Otter Campground - Blue Ridge Parkway National Park: Very wooded and hilly camp ground. Some maintenance is needed the with repaving and leveling. This is a good boondocking site. Friendly Ranger staff and beautiful mountain surroundings. Good hiking trails. Nearby lodge has great food and nice view of Lake.
