For Moon River RV Resort: Was told early in the week and the morning of that there would be a yard spot available for us and was told to come in. We get there and was told the yard spot is nonexistent and they don’t have it anymore and said they could put us in a gravel spot which we aren’t picky people we take what we can get so that would have been fine but they upped the price of the spot. They have a 100$ non refundable deposit that we were told we would be charged but no explanation as to why. There is also a pet fee for 2 pets at 25$ mind you we only have 1 pet but was still expected to pay the full 25$ (we do know pet fees are common but to pay the price for 2 when we only have one is crazy). Prices go based off your rv length so I wouldn’t recommend big rigs to stop by or you could be paying ALOT! I was told it was nose to back of rv. Which ours is 37 feet. Wasn’t told that they also wanted to hitch measured too. With our hitch it put us at 38ft and they told us that it would be an additional 50$ for that extra foot. Our price went from $740 plus electric billed separately at .13 plus 25$ pet fee plus the 100$ deposit to 795$ plus the electric, pet fee and deposit for the gravel spot. We were also told we would need to pay an additional $25 for a yard fee. Mind you they just said we would be put in the gravel not a site with a yard. We asked why do we have to pay a yard fee and the lady goes: “well the other rvs in the gravel pay a yard fee”. What type of response is that? We aren’t in a yard spot to have to pay a yard fee. The guy there then says “well it’s a fee to help us mow the yards and take care of the yards.”
Ohh so we have to pay for you to do a service that we aren’t participating in?
After all of this we were then offered a yard spot and that it would 895$ plus electric and all the added fees and the deposit.( but I thought you didn’t have a yard spot?)
This place seems more money hungry than anything. How do you go from yes we have a yard spot for 740 to no we don’t have a yard spot back to oh yes we have a yard spot but the price would be 895 all in one conversation.
Went over to another rv park and told staff what happened they apologized to us for something their rv park didn’t do and they didn’t have to do that. They got us a spot and we were moved in within 30 mins of being on the phone with them plus this park is a lot nicer and a better location. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and bubbly!
We were told about how this rv park has people coming in all the time looking for a spot after moon river did them the same way they did us. Which is a sad reputation for moon river.
I would not also call this place an “RV Resort”. Not a resort style park at all. Yes they have a pool but other than that there are no resort style amenities.
You are just behind industrial buildings next to a super busy road.
Moon River is located behind some industrial buildings on a dead end road. No stores close by.
Maybe someone else will have a better experience with this RV park but this was by far one of worst experience we have had. Waited all week with reservations to be told no when we arrived. We are full time RV travelers (been on the road for over 3 years) and would not recommend to other full timers. You get a better value for about the same price at horn rapids (995$ a month electric included) , Columbia sun RV park, Franklin county rv park and even the KOA! They are 595 a month and the sites are so nice, for an KOA it’s so well managed and an overall pretty park. We stayed at the KOA for one night before we thought we would be going to moon river. Some weekends they also offer free breakfast in their clubhouse. The ladies working the front office were so sweet to talk to as well, we felt comfortable and cared for. The guy that escorted us to the rv site was also super friendly and shared good stories with us before we started setting up. There also so many others rv parks with better value than moon river. Upset we wasted so much time we won’t get back but I guess you live and learn and we surely learned with them.
