For Luray RV Resort and Campground: We really liked this campground. It's just 30 minutes from the Thornton Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park and the Skyline Drive. Only 10
Minutes from Luray Caverns. Most of this campground is designed for RV's with full hookups and nice level packed gravel sites. They have a handful of drive-thrus. There isn't much in the way of shade, but the lawns are meticulously maintained and we could see the mountains. As another reviewer mentioned, seeing the sky is nice, too. The bath house is a bit rustic looking, but has modern plumbing and is clean. We loved being a walk or a bicycle ride from the river. This is a pretty place to explore on foot or bike, fish, tube, or play horse shoes. Gas and groceries are nearby. For tent campers they have beautiful sites down by the river.

Jon

For Luray RV Resort and Campground: Nice sites and views. Walk up river access then 20 min float, walk back to site. Close to Luray caverns where we did the ropes course and got ice cream. Also learned about balcksmithing and 18 century cooking. Our family enjoyed it.

Marty

For Luray RV Resort and Campground: Good but not great. The river is a steep hike down a hill and you can't see it from the campground. The sites are all bunched together with no trees or privacy. Full hookups but HUGE speed bumps and they force you to buy firewood from them. Probably wouldn't stay again, everyplace was booked so that's how we ended up here.

KC

For Luray RV Resort and Campground: traveling to Florida we found this campground on Allstays App. The other campgrounds which we had previously stayed at along Rte 81 were full. I would stay here again! Stunning views, nice big sites, friendly
Staff, well maintained.

Brad

For Luray RV Resort and Campground: We visited this camp ground in early August and found the sites to well laid out and with very nice amenities. The Shenandoah river runs around one side of the campground and my two boys had a great time fishing and tubing along the river. I choose this campground for astronomy. The skies are reasonably dark and the horizons are excellent in most directions, there are some mountains to the NW. The campground uses very low level lighting and there are only a few trees in among then sites. Overall I would say this campground is excellent for astronomy.

Price Paradise

For Luray RV Resort and Campground: We found this campground by using the allstays Ap that we love, while traveling through Virginia. We absolutely loved it! It was beautiful, peaceful, and close to Caverns and Historic sites. We rented a golf cart and had a blast driving around the property exploring. You can go right along the river and either watch or participate in tubing; drive or jog around the perimeter of the cornfield jogging path; or just take a peaceful walk, all from the campground. We will make sure to come back when we can stay longer than just one night. They also have a historic home from the 1700's that you can rent if not a camper. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet place to reflect and enjoy Mother Nature...this is it!

Rvrover

For Luray RV Resort and Campground: beautiful park on the Shenandoah River but not too close to worry about kids, unless you tent camp on the shore. Nice view of fields, hills and dales. Walking paths, room to stretch out. Incessantly pleasant chirping of birds during the day and with the exception of a lonely train in the distance, absolute silence at night. Clean neat, well-tended and well-priced. Probably not for a family who expects to hang around a pool. But for kayakers, check with the campground as they are offering some services. Fishing is easy, like summer.
Expect to drive short (less than ten minutes) to local tourist attractions.
Very helpful staff.
