For NC State Fairgrounds: A very safe place to camp when visiting family in Raleigh. Full hookups but no bathhouse if you are not self-contained. Gravel, clay roads can be dusty and rough. Worked great for us.

For NC State Fairgrounds: The check in process has changed a bit. My suggestion is to cruise the campground selecting an open site. Careful to select a site that is not out of order. Since they are open year round they have a lot of frozen water connections. There were 20 ot of order in early April. I recommend you walk to the hookups and check for yellow tape, it can be easily missed from your vehicle. Once selected return to the checkin booth you passed on entering and call the number posted. Security will quickly arrive to complete the process. I would say on this my fourth visit the sites are showing a need for some work. New gravel and perhaps fill in the low spots. Still an excellent location and a good choice. Remember there are no bathrooms or showers and picnic tables are not provided. Filled with large Class A and large trailers. At 21 feet I was by far the smallest unit here.

For NC State Fairgrounds: Positives: Friendly and helpful staff, convenience to the city of Raleigh, big park roads for backing in the camper Negatives: no weekly or monthly rates, constant TRAIN traffic with whistles blowing with a railroad near the grounds, poor internet Full hookups with 50 amp electricity are frequent.

For NC State Fairgrounds: Pleasant surprise!! Nice shade trees, well maintained grassy sights, level - full hookup. Super friendly security staff for checkin. Bigger sites than any KOA I have been to, other than the lack of bathhouse- rivals many state parks

For NC State Fairgrounds: Use gate H7 and bear left (behind the road that goes into the amhirse arena). I'm always concerned about rv parks that are in town, but this one is tucked away to where the only traffic is Rv park traffic and there were a lot of rv people around all the time - it feel very secure. This is a WONDERFUL place to be - I lived right down the road for 10 years. Everything from the triangle is convenient as well as the many events at the fairgrounds. Much excellent food is nearby, including my favorite sushi restaurant in the whole country, Waraji. DO check out the arena/stadium schedule, just a block away, or you might duck out for a quick meals and end up with an hour drive back!

For NC State Fairgrounds: Stayed Thanksgiving week. Staff very friendly. Good full hookups. To find the campground, take Youth Center Drive to Horse Complex Gate H7. Go left up hill, find a site and pay security. All back in sites at $30/night. Satellite coverage, 20+ on air channel and 4G coverage on AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. First come, first serve and need to plan accordingly for state fair events and college game schedules. Stayed in 45' motorhome.

For NC State Fairgrounds: Stayed here early March 2017. Nice level campsites, full hook ups, 50 amp electrical. Basic, safe, secure, quiet, very close to downtown Raleigh. 5 Mbps free Wi-Fi. A little tricky to find, suggest calling the NC fairgrounds number in the app listing for assistance.
