For Fort Belvoir Travel Camp: We travel full time in a 50 ft fifth wheel and stayed here because of the close proximity to the DC area. We were hoping to pay less than $40 a night here, but were informed by the managers on the phone that the price is high due to the location. At $60 a night, this is the highest priced military RV park we have experienced in 38 states!!! And, we have stayed in over 30 military RV parks. Our recent stay in Key West at Sigsbee on a waterfront site for only $45 a nite - a great price and waaaay better location than Ft. Belvoir too!!!
MWR exists to provide free or low cost recreational opportunities for qualified individuals. From my dialogue with Ft. Belvoir management before and during our stay, it seems that the location justifies the cost of staying there. I think that is simply morally wrong and goes against the purpose of MWR. Whats next, start charging to utilize the base gym.
Other than my rant, the park was well maintained and sits on a nice location with the tidal waters of the Potomac River. Should have several more washers and dryers available. Great walking in and the surrounding area of the park.

For Fort Belvoir Travel Camp: I called to stay for 8 weeks. I had ro pay in advance doe the 8 weeks a total of $2k+. Then I could not stay longer than 2 months. Ft Belvoir needs to work with the community. Why charge in advance for the amenities?

For Fort Belvoir Travel Camp: You pay for the peace and view. The campground is quiet with newer concrete pads, fire pit, and picnic tables. The view of the water is amazing depending on the site you are in. They do a good job of keeping up with the grounds. One star taken away because there are only 3 washers and dryers. Book well in advance.... bottom line it doesn’t feel like you are so close to DC other than the price of the park.

For Fort Belvoir Travel Camp: Very spacious and clean. Quiet. Concrete pads. Easy to maneuver in and out of park and lots. Highly recommended... worth the lot fee.

For Fort Belvoir Travel Camp: Very clean travel camp, bathroom and laundry room are well maintained with a wonderful view of the water. Only issue is the 50 a night rate and no weeks/ monthly discounts.

Lisa from Florida
For Fort Belvoir Travel Camp: We had a pleasant stay at this well maintained clean rv park. Only 52 spots but it had a nice layout and a view of the water. Nice clean bathhouse and laundry. No shade anywhere, so we had to crank the A/C. The check in was down the hill from the park so we had to go back down the hill to check in after we found our site. Directions to the site were confusing and when we called the Recreation center for help they could not provide any. We finally found where we were going and had a pleasant stay. We will plan to stay here again.
