For Gunsite Wash BLM: Unlike some of the previous reviews, we did not like this site at all! It was very dirty and the roads were bumpy. As three women camping in our vehicles we did not feel safe at all! There were signs posted about illegal immigrant crossings and drug smugglers passing through the area. We decided not to stay here and as we were heading south on 85 we were stopped by the border patrol who had closed off the road. There was a helicopter circling above and a lot of people running around with rifles. And this was less than a mile away from the campground. If you are traveling alone I would not advise you to stay here.

For Gunsite Wash BLM: Great boondocking spot. Easy to access right off of 85. There is a large pull off area, where you can first unhook and then drive in to look for a spot. The land is very flat, with very few ruts, so its easy to get to most of the areas and easy to level. We had no issues with our 40’ motorhome. Great Verizon signal. At night we star gazed and listened to the coyotes howl. Will definitely come back here again.

For Gunsite Wash BLM: Just outside of the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and the town of Why, Arizona is the Gunsite Wash BLM. Road noise and lack of natural beauty generally detracts from the appeal. Small and medium size rigs have many more campsite options. There are about six good spots, fairly level, for a big rig with easy access in and out. All of these sites are either to the left or to the right immediately after passing over the cattle guard into the BLM area. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 6.68 Mbps download speed and 5.71 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cell service was 3G and unusable for a speed test. There is a border patrol checkpoint approximately 2.4 miles south of the BLM site entrance on Arizona Route 85. This BLM does provide easy access to the Organ Pipe National Monument, but the lack of recreation/hiking trails on-site, road noise, and the nothing spectacular setting detract. For Gunsite Wash BLM: Like the others have said, lots of space, roads aren't too bad but do get a bit iffy at times the further in you go. Good signal for Verizon 4G LTE. Would stay again. About 18 miles from Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. A bit more and you're at the border with Mexico so, yes, there's a sometimes heavy Border Patrol presence the closer you get to the border but no big deal.

For Gunsite Wash BLM: Great place. Tons of level open spaces to park. Good Verizon service. Fair amount of boarder patrol aircraft but other than that nice, quiet and close to organ pipe. And best of all free

For Gunsite Wash BLM: Lots of space. Arrive in daylight so you can see. We did not so it was rough.camping spot the first night. No problem with clearance. Great spot to dry camp. Verizon and AT@T worked here. Verizon internet only worked. AT@T internet did not work. Real quite at night except for border patrol helicopter buzzing through at 1am.
