For Aguirre Spring Campground: We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer! We loved the winding drive in (driving a 26-foot Winnebago Sprinter), the views, the sunrise, and the hiking trails that were easy to access from the campground. We walked the whole campground and didn’t see any trash. There are a few vault toilets scattered through the campground, and each site has its own trash bin. We chatted with the campground host who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He said winter is a great time, but they do get some partiers in the busier season. Highly recommended based on our experience!

For Aguirre Spring Campground: Hosts were great. Sites were good. Some not level. Spectacular scenery and hiking. Warning: if you are looking for peace and quiet this is NOT the place. BLM please ban alcohol consumption and music playing. Also please limit the camping units to 1 per site. This is a special place that needs to be preserved. If people want to party and be loud then they need to go to dispersed camping on BLM land but NOT in developed campgrounds like this one. I am NOT blaming the hosts in any way but the locals who are showing no respect for other campers or the special nature of this unique space.

For Aguirre Spring Campground: Pros: Beautiful scenery Cons: it’s a party place with apparently NO rules enforced by the BLM. They need to limit the number of camping units to One per site. Ban alcohol consumption and music playing. The accoustics in this place make it possible to hear everyone’s noise plainly. Also NONE of the sites are level.

For Aguirre Spring Campground: This is a great place! The road in is very twisty and not for big vehicles. The view is amazing!

For Aguirre Spring Campground: Great campground, but lots of abuse i think mostly from near by Air Force base. Trash and graffiti on trail mostly near campground. Also campground gets packed with picnickers that don’t recognize the separate picnic area.

For Aguirre Spring Campground: This place is amazing: great hiking, very quiet at night (quiet hours are from 10 pm to 6 am).... we towed our 31 ft 5th wheel very slowly up, going down was much easier using the engine break on our diesel truck (I probably would not try to bring anything bigger up and we only did after talking to the camp host below). Site 28 was long enough for our 5th wheel and truck (there were a few others, that would have worked for us). The sites are not the most level and we used our lego blocks to rise one side and it worked fine. The BLM was doing some work on the camp ground. It looked like they were adding gravel, trying to level the sites one site at a time. The mountains are amazing looking especially right after sunrise when they get lit up by the first rays of sunshine. I hiked Baylor Canyon hike, it offers beautiful views across the valleys and along the mountains. I would rate it at moderate in difficulty. We went to the BLM office is Las Cruces, because the sign at the pay station was not very clear to us. We have an Interagency Access Pass (for the permanently handicapped, usually the same benefits as the Senior NP Pass) to ask about it. The oprices stated are $5 for day use and $7 for camping. It is well worth it. For those with a military ID card: there is a fitness center (free showers), a small commissary, a mini PX and a gas station (no diesel) on the White Sands Missile Range in the valley below.

For Aguirre Spring Campground: I agree with the previous reviews. This campground is awesome. $5.00 for day use and $7.00 to camp. If you have a “Senior Pass,” it is half price. There is water at the entrance but you must have a long hose, at least 25 feet, to fill your tanks. There is no RV dump or electricity. There are two trails, Pine Tree Trail (a 4 mile loop), and Baylor Pass Trail (6 miles one way). Of the two, the Baylor Pass Trail is far better. I stayed two nights in a F250 with Truck Camper.
