Mike
For Fort Stanton Cave Campground: Five stars. This place is the best and free! Quiet, clean, with a new toilet! Walk down the road, take a left at the Y, and up the hill for an amazing sunset! Water is available at the BLM horse camp on the paved road to Fort Stanton.
If you have a larger rig you may want to check it out first. The turn around at the middle site is tight. There is a Y junction 1/4 mile further down the road if needed. I was good with a 27 foot trailer.
Would stay here again.

For Fort Stanton Cave Campground: I am not finding this place beautiful. It's ok. There are a few campsite with covered tables and a toilet. The view is not great as it's down in a small valley. Nothing special a one night passing through place !

For Fort Stanton Cave Campground: Beautiful and secluded. Cave on grounds but fenced. Need permit to go into it. Saw a large snowy (?) owl. Trail riding nearby.
