For Port San Luis Harbor District: There are three options when RV camping at Port San Luis Harbor at Avila Beach. Flying Flags Avila Beach has the best views, but you’ll pay about $300 per night for the privilege. You bring your own accommodations, food and entertainment. They let you stay on their patch of DG with a great view for about $300 per night. Option 2 is full hookups down by Harford Pier on an asphalt site (wide with plenty of room) across the street from the ocean. It’s pricey at $100 per night, but definitely our first choice. Walking the pier and enjoying the dog beach all within short walking distance is great!! Option 3 is dry camping on the ocean side of the road for about $70 per night. $70 to dry camp might work for you, it is literally on the bay, but we’d rather pay the extra $30 to have full hookups and be just across the road. We waited years for the Flying Flags campground to open, and we stayed there once last year and paid about $150 per night. We thought that was a lot, but then they doubled the price. And staying way up on the hill is not nearly as convenient as staying on the bay.

For Port San Luis Harbor District: This beach is a long time favorite and stayed here in my RV for the first time today. Came in at 0100 in the morning and was lucky to find the last space as they are first come first serve. Beach front, nothing between you and the ocean. $52 a night, no hookups, but the view is well worth it. The beach is prefect for kids, tiny waves and nice sand. Pier is a few hundred yards away with fresh sea food for sell as well as a Restaurant. For a dry camping place, it's top notch.

For Port San Luis Harbor District: You can not beat the view or the wonderful sound of the ocean. The biggest drawback is if you want to be right by the ocean, it is dry camping. They allow big rigs so the generator noise around us was pretty loud until quiet time at 10:00. The other drawback is they charge an extra $20 to use the dump site (on top of the $50/nite for dry camping). All sites are first come first served, so come early in the week if you can. I still gave this a 4 star for the view alone.
