For Resurrection Campground: Sardines on gravel. Yes, the waterfront views are awesome, but otherwise a Walmart parking lot would be superior to this overpriced ‘campground’. Dry camping for $40/night on potholed, poorly drained, gravel lots with very tight spaces. Grass and weeds untrimmed. The reservation system, as is all to common, results in unused spaces although there is ‘no availability ‘.

For Resurrection Campground: Only real update from DSVT’s review is that Seward now operates most of these campgrounds on a reservation basis. It was Covid season so we were able to get a site on short notice and the place wasn’t mobbed. Cruise ships were not operating so not many people around town but some of the businesses weren’t open either. We heard that the area gets very busy when there are several ships in port so eateries and such are very busy. Overall a good deal for the price to be close to town, the fishing port and on the water.

For Resurrection Campground: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient for exploring Seward. We're self-contained in our 25 foot MH and don't use the facilities. We stayed on weeknights in mid-August. We arrived late in the afternoon and were able to find a site on the beach. The City of Seward operates a series of CGs along the east edge of town, on Resurrection Bay. They are all large, dirt lots with chalk lines delineating the spaces. Some have electric for $40/night. Dry sites are $20/night. Those furthest north along the beach are nearest the small boat harbor and cruise ships. Those furthest south on the beach are along a multi-use path which renders this area rather social - locals and RVers are walking past the line of RVs throughout the day/evening. The areas are relatively quiet at night. The views are beautiful. The sites are dirt and level. Most are in the open sun, while a few sites away from the beach can get partial shade. There're restrooms and pay showers which we didn't use. There're dumpsters in the camping areas. There's a dump station with potable water on Ballaine Blvd with a $5 fee. There's good Verizon and ATT cell service. Not everyone will like the parking lot feel. We enjoyed the views and social nature of the space that was convenient to visit Seward. Seward is walkable/bikeable. There's also ample parking in different lots for RVs. There's a National Park Visitor Center near the small boat harbor and the Sea Life Center is at the southern end of town.

For Resurrection Campground: The only thing that can be said in favor of this campground is its location - right on the bay! You can watch the humpback whales from your site. The main walking/bike trail runs along the waterfront between your RV site and your fire pit, which is set along the waters edge. Prepare to be social. This is an open gravel parking lot with absolutely nothing between sites - you are jammed in like sardines. You can't help but 'hang out' with those around you as you are all practically camping together. Even the city baseball field has been turned into "campground" or shall we say parking for RVs. Its not our scene, but again - you give up a great camping experience to be so centrally located in Seward. Water is nearby as are restrooms (port-o-pots in some cases). Some sites have electric/water for $40. Dry sites are $20. There is a separate tenting area in a grassy space as well.
