For Poverty Point Reservoir State Park: One of the nicest State Parks we have stayed in. The sites that are water and electric only are all in the woods, very private, and large. Paved with 50 Amp. The FHU sites (most of them) were nice and large, but we liked the wooded sites better. The entire park is a Black Bear Habitat, and there are a few hiking trails. Bathhouse was possibly the nicest I have ever seen. Verizon was ok, TMobile did not work. This is just a few miles north of the Interstate, so easy for a quick stop. However, if you can, spend a few days and visit the Poverty Point UNESCO World Heritage site about 15 miles north. Well worth the time!

For Poverty Point Reservoir State Park: Nice park with big sites. Have long term stay available in winter months. Pretty reservoir, with a swimming beach you have to drive to. About 20 minutes from Poverty Point World Heritage Site. Had AT&T cell signal.

For Poverty Point Reservoir State Park: Beautiful park. Had very nice bathrooms. Had signs not to feed the black bears, but unfortunately we did not see any. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed in September and I’m a little slow on the post.

For Poverty Point Reservoir State Park: Easy access, beautiful, large sites, and very quite. Stayed two nights and will come back for longer stay in future. Stayed in pull thru’s in the far end of the park and just loved the private feeling from the oversized site.
