For Klondike River Campground: this is 12 miles from Dawson and an excellent campground to visit Dawson. Large isolated campsites and very quiet. The cell service is very good for you internet users. This is for self contained only no electric or dump. water needs to be carried. you can dump in Dawson at the second RV park on the way into town $5.00. plenty of room for the big rigs. Beautiful park. $12.00 night

For Klondike River Campground: This is not an independent campground, but actually a Yukon government-run site. It is a fairly large spot, with lots of trees, and a good amount of space in each campsite. The nice things about the Yukon campsites are the low price ($12) and the fact that they let you have free firewood (but it is a good idea to have your own axe to cut up because they are mostly unsplit logs). The major drawbacks to this site was the fact that it only had one water pump which was a long walk from our site and the mosquitoes, which were horrible, mostly because the campground was built in a low boggy area.
