For Blackhawk Park COE Pool 9: Camped four nights, Sep 9-12, Mon-Thur with reservations on Site 68. Have camped here several times over the last few years. The west loop was pretty full but it was wide open in the rest of the campground. Clean, scenic and peaceful except for the trains. BNSF has a major two track route about a 1/4 mile away that is quite busy all day long; the noise is in the background but can be bothersome if you pay attention to it. Hiking available on the park roads and lots of water activities on the river.

For Blackhawk Park COE Pool 9: We stayed here for two nights in a Class C the end of June 2023. We stayed in site 22 in the upper section. This section of the campground was older with pit toilets and a playground that was roped off. It was close to the water and tree covered Signage to find the site was poor. It had rained earlier, so there was mud around our site We walked to the other section and discovered that it was newer with a nice new bathroom and other facilities. The sites there were more modern , but not many trees. We never saw a camp host. Would stay here again, but on the newer side.

For Blackhawk Park COE Pool 9: We camped at the lower part and enjoyed it. Though the bathrooms left a bit to be desired.
We are close to the river so lots of sightseeing with barges and such. Great place to keep the kids entertained with fishing, lots of small fish that bite alot close to the shores. Can get a bit muddy as the rain takes a while to soak into the ground. I am already booking our next trip here. The Rangers at these 2 parks in the state are VERY friendly and knowledgeable. Can`t wait to be back.

For Blackhawk Park COE Pool 9: Other reviews are accurate and have useful info.
Love COE Campgrounds however, this one has no water in the campground (South newer area sites 40 to 73). With proximity to the river recommend a Dynatrap or other small bug catcher as they will come in through small gaps/cracks in the night. Internet speed was only 11.1 Mbps download and 0.05 Mbps upload. Sometimes it drops out. Will always recommend COE campgrounds for the value, being next to water, distance between sites, most with enough room to back in a big rig, (especially with 50% off senior discount pass).

For Blackhawk Park COE Pool 9: Great park on the river - would of gave 5 stars but if it rains it could be wet and muddy though the sites are level and gravel - they do have a newer part that may not get as wet as the older part - if you want to be closer to the shower than the newer part is for you but we enjoyed the less crowded older part

For Blackhawk Park COE Pool 9: Very well maintained grounds. Playgrounds for kids. Nice small beach area. Two ramps for boats to access river. The showers required tokens and we did not use them so can not comment on them. Restrooms were nice but a bit smelly when we were there. The loop on the river has lots of nice shade trees. The other loop is by a water inlet and is newer and not as many shade trees. However the sites are all very well laid out.
