For Blue Mound State Park: Excellent park for family camping. Large shaded sites, mostly well separated. We stayed 3 nights in site 10. Lots of hiking and bike trailers. Best feature was the pool and Splash Pad. Fee for two adults and two kids was $10. Open 9 to 6 during the week and longer on the weekend. Depth was 3 1/2 to4 feet, so good for most older kids and splash pad was fun for all ages. Did not use any bathroom/ shower facilities but they were well maintained like the rest of the park. Planning our return for next year.

For Blue Mound State Park: This is a tough park to rate because it's not a "complete" state park. It doesn't have a lake, and it doesn't have a concession (which would have been closed for COVID anyway). But the things it does have are very strong, which includes:
Great campsites. Almost all are shaded. But be careful, many sites are not suitable for large rigs. Our site (site 11) was maybe the best site on the property. Totally shaded, very secluded and it was in a loop recently upgraded to 50 amp service.
Trails. Blue Mound is along the Military Ridge and what they call the edge of the driftless. Some of the highest points in Wisconsin are here and the views from the scenic outlooks are super. (Observation towers were closed due to COVID.) Trails range from easy to difficult and there's something for every skill level.
Swimming pool. They have a swimming pool, but it's closed for now.
If you're a runner or a bicyclist in training, this is the best terrain in the state for what you do. Flat sections along with plenty of hills of varying grades.
The picnic area is huge with plenty of spots for groups large and small.
Location is near some nice attractions, such as Cave of the Mounds, and not far from Spring Green, location of the Frank Lloyd Wright home "Taliesen". Look for those when the pandemic is over.
Cell phone and data service was very good.
We were self contained and didn't use the shower building, but it looked in good shape, and they've rebuilt at least two pit toilets in the campground fairly recently.
We've been here several times over the years and we'll be back again in the future.

For Blue Mound State Park: Ok place to camp, but not much to do in the camp itself, mainly nice for the surrounding area. The noise from the nearby highway may be an issue.
