For Iron Creek Campground: Another awesome forest service campsite. Camp host was very personable and friendly. Sites were spaced to allow privacy. Toilets were clean and so were the campsites. We caught a couple fish in the river that surrounds the campground. Great experience and we would definitely go back if we find ourselves in the northwest again.

For Iron Creek Campground: I liked this campground! We stayed for 5 Nights, because it's a great base from which to explore MT. St. Helens, and Mt. Adams! The outhouses were not too bad, the site we had was very big and private, as were most others, but I did see one site, where the table was practically on the road. The campground hosts were friendly, and Becky was so helpful regarding places to hike. We'd probably not stay here again, though, simply because the highway 25 is very potholed and narrow, scarey for towing a trailer of 24 feet or more.

Adam

For Iron Creek Campground: We found this campground very rocky, having very little camp space, and quite primitive. There was lots of camp spoaces, but each space was filled with asphalt and rocky ground rather than grass and trees. It made pitching a tent pretty much impossible. Were it not for the fact that our tent was pretty much self standing, because of its size, we would not have been able to set it up. It literally felt that the campground was more of an RV park with huge, long driveways into the camp sites for an RV to be parked and used to camp in.

Water spickets were readily available and marked.
The bathrooms were large outhouses with concrete floors and steep pitched roofs. They had no lighting inside them, no mirrors, no running water or sinks. Just a toilet seat and a sign that read "Please do not put trash in the toilets. It is extremely difficult to remove...Please put the lid down to minimize odor."

The fee was more expensive than Mt. Rainier (Ohanapecosh) so we expected a nicer camp. Not even close. Ohanapecosh wins hands down, with running water and electricity in the restrooms, a water station for both filling vessels and cleaning dishes.

Iron Creek is a swift creek with some rocks in it, but we were able to make a short rafting trip which was quite fun. The trail is nicely kept.

I would not return to this campground again for an overnight stay, however.
