Dale
For Cranberry Lake - Deception Pass State Park: Your experience here will depend entirely on what the nextdoor naval air station is doing. We happened to be here when the jets were doing touch and goes for hours on end into late night. The dB meter on my phone registered over 90db, like being next to a lawn mower! Every ten seconds another jet would come around. Weekends I think are often safe but camp here during the week at your own risk.

John Jet
For Cranberry Lake - Deception Pass State Park: Huge campground beneath towering trees. Restrooms adequate; showers require inexpensive tokens. This popular park verges on overuse. Trails are wide, rooted and muddy in wet weather. Solitude hard to find. Seems like a good place for families, fishers and kayakers. And oh, the traffic! The highway that goes over the picturesque Deception Pass bridges and serves Widbey Island is a constant heavy stream, both directions. And did I mention the ear-shattering jet aircraft streaking low overhead from the nearby Naval Air Station. This goes on until 10:00 pm or later some evenings. We won’t return to this crowded, noisy park.

For Cranberry Lake - Deception Pass State Park: Deception Pass is always clean, and an overall great place for a small family groups or large multi-site groups. It has full bathroom facilities and showers with private stalls that all seem to be cleaned daily. It can be a little pricey but you get an amazing and cared for park. Sites are pretty big and they’re all relatively private, some are more recessed in the trees than others. We go every year!

The Hawk
For Cranberry Lake - Deception Pass State Park: This is one of the finest parks in the Washington State Parks System. Natural beaches and of course the famous Deception Pass between Fidalgo Island and Whidbey Island. The camping/RV spots are not cheap, but there is a high standard of environmental stewardship maintained by the Washington Park Service. The restroom/shower facilities are very well maintained. Tokens required for hot showers. Many trails and interpretive walks. Great views from the West and North beaches. Crowded on the weekends.

Just a Camper
For Cranberry Lake - Deception Pass State Park: State park campground. Primitive site for $25 is not cheap. WA state parks are not cheap in general. You can take a nice hike over the pebbles beach towards the bridge.
