For Picture Lake Campground: The roads in the campground are a mess, with large chunky gravel and potholes and trenches. There are some areas with way too much gravel and my vehicle has trouble driving through, and there are some spots that are bare dirt that’s muddy and difficult to get through too. I had no WiFi as promised because “you’re in an addition and we haven’t got poles back there yet.” My site was totally muddy and I asked multiple times if I could park in an empty neighboring site or if they could get somebody to take some gravel from the huge piles around the campground to spread over to where I park. They never would get somebody to put gravel there kind of like they never got somebody to install wifi poles. I finally spent 4 backbreaking hours spreading gravel onto my driveway so I wouldn’t stand in mud when I got out of my vehicle. There were many, many full time residents in the campground that had super messy sites and it seemed like there were no rules for them. I never went to the pool because it was always full of locals because there’s no gate to keep them out. The bugs were horrendous while I was there and to top it off it’s right next to an extremely loud drag race track. It was so loud it shook my camper and they would race until late at night even during the week while I was there. I’ve stayed at dozens of campgrounds all across the southeastern and central US, and this was the worst. It wasn’t the cheapest either. There was no pride taken to keep the grounds mowed or looking nice. I was so happy to leave.

For Picture Lake Campground: Stayed 3 nights November 2018. Pull thru site in the front of the property was fine, asphalt pads. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of full timers toward the back are that are messy. Definitely an eyesore.

For Picture Lake Campground: I agree with the other reviews. The WiFi is very fast. The water pressure is very low. There is no security gate so the pool is loaded with locals. I gave it 4-stars as the other campgrounds around Petersburg were worse.

For Picture Lake Campground: We stayed 2 nights only to do some genealogy in the area. The 6 or 7 pull through sites nearest the office are not particulary level, but are freshly paved and very long. The rest of the park appears to be primarily folks who call this place home and isn't very nice. I did feel safe here, however, and the office staff was very friendly. This park served our purpose just fine.

For Picture Lake Campground: Stayed 1 night in April. The water faucet was broken & and in so much filth I wouldn't use it anyway. My site was not level and it looked like an old rusted tire rim was being use for a fire ring. Can't rate the bathrooms and showers, they were too far away to be useful.

For Picture Lake Campground: Needs more maintenance and cleaning. Residents in front are not attractive.
