For Jessie Lea RV Park and Campground: As a full timer, I have stayed at many campgrounds, some good, some bad, some get-me-outta-here. Jessie Lea RV Park is a gem. A second generation family owned campground, it is sited alongside the Powell River in Southwest Virginia. 32 sites, all fully equipped, huge grassy area for tent sites, huge trees, lovely covered area for communal grilling, eating, flowers, gardens. Riverside park across the river. Packed gravel roads and sites, some highway noise, mostly during the day. The owner is delightful, very helpful.

For Jessie Lea RV Park and Campground: Jesse Lea Campground has mostly land locked sites, but I was able to stay at a back-in site abutting the North Fork of Powell River. The people there could not have been nicer or more accommodating, even as I asked to extend my stay another few nights. Much interesting coal camp history nearby and there are well preserved towns not far away. The museum is also very interesting.

Linda
For Jessie Lea RV Park and Campground: I have stayed at Jessie Lea Campground for five years. Every year at the end of July. I attend Mt. Empire School of Music that week. This is THE best place to stay. Mr. John and his family, quickly make you feel as though you are a part of their family. They welcome you with open arms. The campground is very well kept, and the bathroom, and showers are always clean. They make you feel right at home. I would like to thank them for their kindness, and friendship. Also would like to thank them for allowing the music students the use of his shelter to play together out side of school. Thank you John and family!!!
