For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Stayed here in a 21' Travel Trailer. Cost is $14/night plus $25/7days park entrance fee unless you have one of the "America the Beautiful" passes. There are sort of 3 areas to park. The upper parking lot, right next to the dump station. This is flat, gravel and mostly level. There were some big rigs parked up here who were afraid of getting stuck in the sand. The 2nd area is the dunes area. Between the parking lot and the beach is quite a large area of low sand dunes and shrubs. This area is much quieter than being on the beach without camping in the parking lot. There are some paths through the sand that have been heavily traveled so the sand is fairly compacted. This is where we stayed. The last area is the beach. If you want to be right on the water, plan on getting here early and staying really close to your neighbors. We were here over a weekend in October and I would guess that there were close to 100 rigs on the beach. Not really any shade here but still a great place to stay while checking out Glen Canyon NRA.

For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Came in late, around 7:00 and was able to find a spot on the beach. Cost was 14 dollars. Your allowed fires as well on the beach. Water was warm in the lake, so many were in the water. Bathrooms spread out a ways back from the beach if needed. Watch out for driving in sand, as you can get stuck easily.

For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Awesome campsite. It gets you right up to the beach. There are bathrooms spread out across the beach. I brought my tent trailer right up to the beach. It is windy off and on so be prepared for that. It's also expensive. $25 + $14 per night for camping. But overall worth the price to fall asleep with the sound of waves hitting the shore.

For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Update: This place has gotten expensive. Now $25 for a weekly pass plus $14/nite. Senior pass holders get free entry and half off camping tho. Gate is manned all day and they are overly thorough, checking passes on the way out as well as in.
Still great beach parking tho. Beware of sandstorms if the wind comes up tho. It's brutal and gets into everything.
Water and dump are free with camping.

For Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground - Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Worried we would not find a good spot coming late on a Saturday of spring break. Still found a great spot right on the water. Pretty windy here which I guess is common. View was amazing.
