For Soapstone Campground: Many of the sites were shaded (ours, 21, was partially shady all day long). We only have a 21 foot overall length trailer which fit just fine but you really only had room for maybe 5-8 feet longer and that’s pushing it. The camp host was great. There is no water at this site although they are working on replacing the pipes to eventually get water back out there. The tables and fire pits were in excellent condition, the paved portions were level, and the dirt part of the camp was a fine, soft dirt. We drove through several other campgrounds along the Mirror Lake highway and if we chose to visit again, we’d repeat our stay here at Soapstone. Fewer bugs (although still some mosquitos and plenty of non-biting flies) than other campsites and all the other campsites are more cramped and almost zero shade. Each of these campsites seemed a little more private because of the aspens. Wood was available from the camp host for $6 a box. A handful of pit toilet sheds that were in good repair.
